With fantastic views of Rothiemurchus Forest and the Cairngorm Mountains, the High Range Lodge Hotel offers spacious rooms with original artwork by local artists. Really wonderful property. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are big and very clean. The beds are comfortable . There is also free parking available outside the lodge. Would definitely recommend this place. :)

I was able to visit Balmoral and also the Ballater train station with a replica of Queen Victoria's train carriage. I loved everything about the cottage and its location.

Easy location just off the A9 (literally a 2 minute drive). Approximately 50 miles south from inverness. Beautiful house and gardens with plenty of bird life and red squirrels. Lovely quiet location despite being near the A9 which you cannot hear. I had a large room (I stayed in the Stag room) which had a king size canopied four poster bed. A large ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower over bath arrangement. Spotlessly clean. The premises are licensed so you can enjoy a glass of wine or a dram from the drinks menu. Everywhere, was spotlessly clean. The host was amazing and engaging and cooks delicious breakfasts to order from the menu.which you decide on the night before. You can also arrange for an evening meal (sadly didn't order this option as I arrived fairly late in the evening) Scenery is fantastic with some falls you cross via a small bridge to drive to the house. Fabulous host. Beautiful location. Great value.

High Range Self-Catering Chalets are set within the beauty of Cairngorms National Park. Free private parking is possible on site, and free WiFi is accessible in some areas. Very nice chalet! Beautiful area and great location (only a 10 minute walk to the shops).

We were welcomed so warmly by the staff who couldn’t do enough to make us feel at home. Breakfast was superb and high quality. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Bed linen was high grade and the beds were extremely comfortable.

When we arrived it was more like coming home than arriving in a holiday home. The cottage is good equipped and was very clean. On top the host was always reachable and very kind. We would definitely book again!

We’ve stayed in many apartments and cottages, so we have plenty to compare with — and Croftwood Cottage was one of the best we’ve ever experienced. We’ve never seen accommodation so perfectly equipped; there really wasn’t anything we felt was missing. A big plus was the enclosed garden at the back where our children could play safely, as well as the lovely seating area with a view of the garden, where we could relax even on cooler or rainy days. If we had to mention one small thing, the mattresses were a bit too soft for our taste — but of course, that’s a matter of personal preference, and we completely understand. Once again, thank you, Andy. If we ever come back to this area, we’ll definitely choose Croftwood Cottage again!
