The Moorland Hotel, Haytor, Devon - The Coaching Inn Group features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Haytor. The dinner, high tea, and breakfast areas were spacious and delightfully decorated with an eye to easy comfort and respectability. The surrounding moors and tor were fun for a walkabout. There was a proper snow while i was there and hay tor hill was covered with sledders, dogs and hikers. I spotted a herd of wild horses hanging around the trail to hay tor munching on the snow covered bushes. After my day on the moors, there was a handy entrance through the hotel boot room, with bench and towels to shake off the snow. My room had a hot towel rack that dried my clothes and gloves by morning. The dinners and breakfast were prepared by skilled chefs and were good looking and delicious. I highly recommend the moorland hotel for a relaxing stay on the moors.

The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel is a Grade II listed property nestled within unspoiled countryside and 5 minutes’ drive from a scenic coastal walk. We were in the area for one night and were delighted to find this gem! We live in Germany so staying in a country pub/hotel is always a treat for us, and this did not disappoint. We have 2 little dogs who were very welcome in both the pub and the room (and were even given treats and a cheeky sausage by the wonderful staff!). Our check in was smooth and we were able to book a table for dinner with ease. The staff were all super attentive and engaging. The room was comfortable and was everything we needed - even if the bed was a tad small, it still provided us with a solid nights sleep. However, without a doubt, the pinnacle of this stay was the food!! It was EXCEPTIONAL! And this is not exceptional for a pub, it was exceptional compared to anything! The duck was genuinely one of the best cooked and tastiest we’ve ever had! We’ve already recommended it to people and we are seeing how we can visit again on our next visit. Whether you stay for a night or not, the food HAS to be tried! Book a table and thank us later!

The Ley Arms offers accommodations in Exeter, 6.7 miles from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium and 10 miles from Newton Abbot Racecourse. Great location 15 minutes from the airport, in an exceptionally beautiful part of England. I had a lovely walk on the public paths in the hills before dinner. Cosy, lovely, pub, great staff, beautiful and comfortable suite. The food and drinks in the pub were super, too. I had dinner and breakfast here.

Located in Newton Abbot, 4.8 miles from Newton Abbot Racecourse, Dartmoor Halfway Inn has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The price was reasonable, they have only 4 rooms and we had 2 of them, both were very nice, heating in the bathroom made it comfortable. Restaurant had good food and stuff was nice-they helped us with turning double bed into twin. Definitely would stay here again.
