We loved everything about this property! The lodge was secluded, clean and well kept. It was great having a kitchen space to prepare some of our own meals. The pool was a lovely oasis too! We even got to enjoy a morning watching the monkeys from our porch.

Lapazul is an absolute gem—easily one of the most memorable places I’ve stayed at anywhere in the world. The views are simply breathtaking, perched high in the jungle with the ocean in the distance, and the chance to spot local wildlife adds to the magic. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and have everything you need to truly relax. But what really sets Lapazul apart is the top-notch hospitality. The warmth and attention to detail from the staff is among the best I’ve ever experienced—genuine, personal, and truly caring. Special mention to Mr. Jorge, whose first-class service and warm presence made us feel incredibly welcome. He is, without a doubt, one of the best hosts I’ve ever encountered at any hotel in the world. And the food? Outstanding. Every dish is full of flavor and heart, far surpassing the local restaurants in town. The menu is focused and perfectly executed, with ingredients that shine. You can taste the passion in every bite. If you’re looking to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature and comfort, this is the place. Plus, it’s just a short drive down to the beach at Dominical. I can’t recommend it enough.

Everything was amazing ! :) thanks for your hospitality, we felt like family. The white water rafting was really fun and safe. The night walk was stunning with a great guide. The activites are relatively cheap and great. We highly recommend the lodge. We also saw a caoti and tucans at the lodge!

Very comfortable and big bed, great shower, delicious breakfast, very clean and exceptionally welcoming hosts. They have a lot of info on activities in the area and the local flora and fauna. But most of all they make you feel at home and safe. I would definitely come again to spend some relaxing days at Raya in Matapalo! The location is just perfect, everything in walking distance 7‘ to the beach, 5‘ to famous and awesome Matapalo Supper Club Restaurant, another restaurant and the supermarket. 20‘ to the bus stop. And on the other side of the road: Angelo who takes you on trips with his lovely horses.

The hotel is only a two minute walk to this beautiful beach, which stretches for miles and miles! The place is very quiet, laid back, and relaxing ; the bed was super comfy.Breakfast on the second floor was ample and delicious. The owner, David, was most kind and helpful.A special note of gratitude to David"s hired cleaning ladies: I had forgotten my cel phone in the room when we checked out. A half hour later, they called my husband's phone to tell us about it!! I deeply appreciate this gesture and their honesty!!! Congrats on a great staff!

Wonderful little gem in the forest. We stayed here to avoid the crowds and were blown away. Small villas separated by a beautiful garden/forest. We received an upgrade and on the beginning were the only guests there. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, a big thank you to everyone. The villa itself was very cozy, had a bathroom and a kitchen. Bed was comfortable, villa was overall very clean. You can walk on the property (lots of different plants, some animals such as birds, even sheep), or walk 15 minutes to the waterfall. Breakfast was also very good and the pool refreshing. Located a 15 minute drive from Dominical, 25 minutes to Quepos and 40 minutes to Manuel Antonio. But the local beach at Matapalo is highly recommended. And listen to AJ's restaurant recommendations, the Langosta Feliz was amazing. We ended up extending our stay and loved every minute of it.
