A bus stop is located right in front of the property, and shuttle buses are available from Utsunomiya Train Station, an hour away, at an additional fee. Great place to stay if you are visiting Nikko. We had a great Ryokan experience.

This was our second time staying here and once again it was exceptional. It’s cosy and calm and the private onsens are a dream! Breakfast of pastries is delicious. It’s a very short drive into town, but it’s also walkable. There’s a beautiful forest walk just behind the house and it’s very close to the botanical gardens and the imperial villa.

Hiro and his adorable assistant, Marie, are attentive, kind, and welcoming. I got to hear different stories of Hiro's life as well as recommendations that I never would have known about otherwise. His care for the guests is so apparent, including turning the heater on every morning in the kitchen, being so responsive and flexible, and consideration for any needs. The house itself is beautiful with tatami mats in the bedroom, a zen garden, a mini onsen, and surrounded by ancient trees and nature. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, kettle, and dishware, and Hiro-san provides towels and slippers. He also prepares the mini onsen for guests every night as well as shuttle service to Tobu and JR stations whenever you would like to leave or come back to the house.

Nice place, comfy room and beds, good little common area and very friendly and arranging host!

Situated in Nikko, 1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Shinkyo Inn features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking and a bar. Located around 1.7 km from Tobu Nikko Station, the hotel with free WiFi is also 1.9 km away from Nikko Station. Guests can enjoy mountain views. The Inn was just perfect!!. The room was spacious , comfortable and very clean. We had an international breakfast which was very good . the location is great - just next to the Shrines, and last but not least- the hosts were so friendly and helpfull. Mark - the owner is an englishman who moved to Japan many years ago, and he speaks both English and Japanese. He was so nice and helpfull. Gave us maps, directions and good advices. Mark make some tel. calls phone for us. We had a realy homely feeling. I highly recommend Shinjuku inn, and definetly i'll stay there again when I'm in Nikko.

Super family friendly with all the amenities and white goods, easy to use dining area and a great digital heated fireplace for the cold season. Large porch for family get togethers. Bathroom was spacious and clean too. Carpark space was ample, with a convenience store just a min by car. Will definitely be back again.
