Filip is an incredibile host. The room is clean, well located and has the best shower we had in our entire stay in Senegal. Breakfast was fantastic, there was aircon, a silent fan, a washing machine and Filip was always around to help.

I booked Maison Fimela after travelling in Senegal for two weeks, wanting to end the trip by visiting the UNESCO listed Saloum Delta. I’m very glad I did. This was the best accommodation I stayed in, with the best food and hospitality of the entire trip. The place feels like an oasis for birdwatching, and I especially enjoyed meditating and listening to the birdsongs. Nature focused travellers will love it, and the Saloum Delta itself is not to be missed (although I saw more birds in the lagoon in front of the hotel than during my delta excursion) Chloé was very helpful in organising my excursions and arranging a taxi to the airport. I have no complaints at all and was very happy with my stay.

Amazing place. Of course you have to know what to expect, which is a rustic stay on the countryside, but while things are basic everything is clean and functions properly, and the atmosphere is unique. The staff treated our kids like family, playing with them and letting them help around the house :) also they were super helpful in organizing activities and travel arrangements. will definitely come again!

Celine and Giles were charming hosts, genuinely engaged in the local community with a deep respect for the people they work with and the environment. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and the trips we did. The food was delicious, and the fact we all sat around the same table for breakfast and dinner made it very sociable. The location of the lodge is simply stunning. It sits right on the water, surrounded by nature, and you can see all kinds of beautiful birds throughout the day. The property itself is extremely clean and stylish, with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that makes it very easy to unwind. The food is delicious, and the breakfast is especially wholesome with plenty of variety. I loved watching the birds come by in the morning as if they were coming to say hello. The rooms are very comfortable and I slept incredibly well during my stay. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. Even though my French is almost zero, they always made an effort to understand me and made me feel very welcome. There is honestly nothing bad to say — this place is a little paradise. I truly hope to come back one day. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
