Very social hostel! Free soda in the common room is appreciated! Very good location close to the night market! Rent a scooter if you wanna explore the area. The tiny rooms/pods are amazingly comfy and definitely well worth it!!

Best place in Kenting to meet local and international travelers! Over three nights here, I had a meal or drink with people from Holland and Hong Kong, Donggang and Taipei. Such welcoming staff, greeting everyone, answering my transportation questions. The manager planned a birthday sunrise outing to a beautiful sea cliff nearby! The common spaces have everything for a calm fun stay. This established old hostel has a renovated feel. You can find a cozy seat, hot coffee, or desk to work. My room had an ocean view, and my neighbor below had a balcony. The capsules are private and nice. You can reach The First from Hengchun or Zuoying via Kenting tourist shuttle bus 9189. And I departed on bus 9117B to Donggang. Both routes accept Easy Card. Nanwan is an ideal base for scuba diving with Houbihu DivePro 南青潛水. The dive guide picked me up at The First for NT$200. I enjoyed day trips to Sail Rock at sunset, Longpan Park for sunrise, Hengchun for the city wall and restaurants, and Eluanbi for its lighthouse, sea views, and amazing paths. The ATM at Seven Eleven accepted my international debit card. The weather in March is perfect for me.

Set within 9.4 km of Kenting Night Market and 11 km of Maobitou Park, 日子有光 SHINE Inn Day provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Hengchun. Best accommodation I had in Taiwan. The manager spoke English. The WiFi was fast and reliable. I actioally had an online job interview while I was thereand the connection was grate. Everything was clean. I coud use the kitchen and washing mashine and they even have detergent. there was space to park the scooter. May be I was lucky because it was the end of the season but the price was also very affordable.

MUSEaUM 沐洋人 has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Hengchun. The property is set 10 km from Kenting Night Market, 11 km from Maobitou Park and 13 km from Chuanfan Rock. One of the best hostels in Taiwan. All the staff are kind, friendly, and laid-back. The host J shared a bunch of local recommendations with me, and I enjoyed our morning chats at the coffee shop :) They also run a bar in the same building, and even as a solo traveller, I felt comfortable spending time there because the bartenders were warm and welcoming. And of course their original cocktails were great too! My fav was 貴妃挽茶 (Imperial Concubine Yang).
