The breakfast was very nice and satisfying being served in the pleasant dining area. The room was comfortable and quiet. The house and neighborhood were a bit out of town which was not a problem because there was an awesome restaurant next door that we really enjoyed.

A "Hidden gem".

A "Hidden gem". Volcano country is about an hour's drive from the city, through a rural countryside that is well worth seeing. There are many lakes, where the locals constantly visit for outdoor camping, sailing and hiking (the water is too cold for swimming). A surprising ethnic mix of peoples (Spanish, Chinese, German and indigenous "Indian") with accompanying blend of architectural styles and their enclaves, and a blend of food choices that can be enjoyed by almost everyone. Our stay at the Sonesta Hotel was fabulous, with personal service everywhere and very comfortable accommodations. But be certain to bring an adapter for the outlets.
