Very conveniently located near the airport. Jhonny picked me up from the airport from my late flight, and was extremely helpful in the morning, making sure I had local currency cash, drove me to the bus stop, and told the bus driver where to tell me to get off since I don’t speak Spanish.

I booked last minute after my flight was severely delayed and Jhonny collected me from the airport at midnight then took me to the bus station in the morning and checked I had the right bus time. Really excellent customer service.
A very convenient place to stay if you’ve got a late flight before heading to Las Terrenas on the bus!

A short stay for transfer. Very close to the airport and quiet room with air conditioner. The host offers airport shuttle services for my night arrival and early departure.

Officially named ‘Las Américas-José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport’, this Caribbean airport is known simply as ‘Las Américas Airport’. The main hub for the Dominican Republic, it’s one of the largest airports in the Caribbean. It’s located 20 miles (32 kilometres) from Santo Domingo City, while the resort of Boca Chica is just 7 miles (11 kilometres) away. The easiest way to get to the city is by taxi, which will cost around DOP 200 (between USD 35–40) and take about 30 minutes. A taxi to Boca Chica will cost slightly less and take about ten minutes.

I only used this as a 2 nights stop whilst waiting for a rearranged flight home. Booked it very late and got great reception and response from host to get me the keys and and settle in.
Close to the airport (5 minute taxi ride)
There's a supermarket within 10 minutes walk with ATM's and obviously anything you need for shopping.
I didn't look around the area any further.
The flat was fairly clean with basic amenities and if i needed to wait over again for a flight the i would definetly consider using this host again.

Boca Chica beach was funky in a good way.
Boca Chica beach was funky in a good way. One section seemed to be largely frequented by locals, who hung out at tables underneath a canopy of umbrellas. There were several restaurants. I was approached by a man who obviously recognized me as a tourist and steered me to a restaurant that took credit cards. They took good care of me. There were what looked like paddle boats on the beach, apparently for rental. Further down the beach there are modest hotels and maybe clubs. One place appeared to be a discotheque. This was not a place for people who want ritzy, it would be great for people who want local color. Note, there are packs of stray dogs hanging out, but they were harmless.

Boca chica has the allure and the true island vibe that we desire when we think about the dominican republic. The food is great.I love the fact that the town is so accessible for everything I needed.The hotel was really nice.I stayed at hotel Hannabi it was really lovely

Sad, overpriced and not very nice.
Sad, overpriced and not very nice. A lot of rubbish everywhere. No local culture. Beaches were poor. Theres a view of a large powerstation from the beach. No good food available apart from ridiculously overpriced top-end restaurants. Very shabby and disappointing overall. A poor end to a disappointing trip to the Dominican Republic which these days feels like a rerirement haven for expats. We left feeling deflated.
