Santander was a real surprise for us.
Santander was a real surprise for us. We had only ever known it as a ferry port. It is so much more! A lovely bustling city which has lots to see and great foord and restaurants. We shall certainly return.

Maliano was a nice place , the hotel in a good location, sometimes your flight to England schedule at 10pm and when you try to plead with the manager of the hotel to consider you add little money to check-out before your flight time they refuse and inject you out by 10am.

friendly village, 20 minutes from santander, probably the prices of food and drink were a lot less. not much to do there but nice to retreat to after spending the day in other parts of the beautiful cantabria

Lovely sandy beaches. Good selection of bars and cafes. Walk to the lighthouse is superb. Contrast between Casino end and old town. Boat trips aroind the bay and across the estuary. Cheap transport to get around.

Santander is quite touristy, but not very tourist-friendly.
Santander is quite touristy, but not very tourist-friendly. Intercity public transport is limited, restaurants and supermarkets are expensive, and getting around often involves climbing steep stairs between roads. A car is helpful, but even then, stairs are unavoidable.
