Good Air - conditioning. I asked for an extra towel, and Alain the owner gave me an extra towel. I also asked for an extra toilet roll, and he told me to ask the cleaning staff. One of the cleaners , gave me one. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

The staff went the extra mile for us......we were driving through southern France in a bright red FIAT 500 rental car in early December and this little hotel worked great for us. The hotel was almost empty because it was out of season but we got a nice room at a very inexpensive price. Then, the staff got up in the morning and made a lovely breakfast just for us.

BEST STAY EVER! Enchanting location in an immaculately clean, fresh, tranquil home. The gardens and pool are so relaxing. Homemade French meal is a MUST! Soooo delicious and a truly gracious hosting couple. Home is on the edge of a gorgeous, windy road through the French countryside dotted with vineyards. Just a short drive to the Castle. Already planning next year’s trip with friends!

    We stayed in a hotel within the walls and that was lovely (...

    We stayed in a hotel within the walls and that was lovely (Auberge des Lices) and we visited the old town as well as the city. So much to see and do! This was our second visit and we were not disappointed (other than the note below). A slight caveat as one of party was disabled is that the walled City is not particularly disabled friendly. Those who stay in the other lovely hotels are afforded luggage transfer but those less fortunate with mobilty have to struggle waith bags and have to be able to walk quite a few hundred metres to get to a gate other than the main entrance which is the nearest to the Cite car parks. A golf cart type facility would I am sure assist even if there was a charge... Just saying :-)

    Small city easy to find your way around. Bus to the airport is not very frequent and info about same is non existent, taxis are also very hard to aquire and there doesn't seem to be too many available.

    Carcassonne is a beautiful little town and well worth a visit. all the sites can be visited in a couple of days and the train station gives good access to local places such as Narbonne (just half an hour away).
