Hotels near Dundee Airport - DND, Dundee

Dundee is a lovely city with plenty to see and do. It is well connected with rail, road and air options. The two bridges alone are worth coming to see and travel across. It has excellent restaurants, bars and shopping centre. We used Dundee as a base also to travel to the Highlands and other areas of Scotland. We found it very central and easy to get in and out of. We found all the people we met very friendly and helpful.

Discovery was very interesting and bought joint ticket for the Jute museum which was good too / walkable from Discovery. Good selection of bars and restaurants. Would recommend Dundee for a short stay break

The V&A is well worth a visit. We went to an excellent exhibition, followed by a pleasant lunch in the restaurant. The McManus museum shows the way the Dundee developed- via jam, jute and journalism, as well as shipbuilding. Super places to eat, our favourite being Collinsons. NB Car parking needs to be booked in advance for a stress free day!

Dundee has excellent museums and art galleries, including the McManus Galleries and the V & A Gallery of Design. My favourites were Verdant Mill Jute Museum and the Discovery Centre, alongside the "Discovery" ship which took Captain Scott to the Antarctic in 1901. If you have plenty of energy, climb up Dundee Law for superb views of Angus and Fife. There are plenty of cafes, but the shopping centre has seen better days due to shop closures. Public transport around Dundee and to other places is good with frequent bus and train services.

I'd originally booked 3 nights but due to finding out when getting there that the hotel had no car park and I had to use pay and display car park next to hotel I immediately cancelled the next two nights,I blame booking.com for not highlighting this,the hotel itself,room and staff were fine,no issues,I was visiting St Andrews and its only 30 minutes drive so the one night was enough because on what I've seen Dundee had nothing to offer,the town area wasn't much to shout about at all,I honestly couldn't recommend stopping in Dundee for any reason.

Good bus service to city centre. People always helpful and friendly. Discovery point and tour of the Antarctic exploration ship. Good displays in the main building. McManus Gallery, spent a whole afternoon there.V&A architectural tour, well displayed and explained exhibitions and cafe is excellent. Verdant works Jute making. Run by volunteers who are very knowledgeable. Extremely interesting background of the works, British Empire, ship building, change from linen to jute products and slow decline. Give yourself plenty of time and go on a quiet day.. Bring your warm jacket and hat, it's breezy!
