It is very quiet even though it is right next to the airport. The bed is mega comfy and the pillows are amazing. It is great to have some rest before or after long plane rides.

It was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Although it had a shared bathroom, this wasn't a problem, particularly as it was right opposite our room. There was a kitchen on the ground floor, which was communal. It had a washing machine, fridge, cooker, hob etc so you could cook if you wanted to. It is very close to Donington Circuit, only a couple of miles, which was great as we were attending World Superbike for the weekend. There is a pub just up the road within walking distance, which serves food. We would definitely stay there again.
Ideal for events at Donington Park and East Midlands Airport Park & Fly, this boutique hotel is in the village of Castle Donington, less than 2 mi from the M1, A50 and A42.

The location was great, within walking distance to the historic downtown. We didn’t have time for breakfast, but the owner made us tea and coffee. I would highly recommend that you stay here and support this. Local business.

Lovely village with a couple of pubs, restaurants and takeaways. Would recommend a trip to the National Justice Museum and Caves in Nottingham and East Midlands Airport Museum where you can take the kids to watch the planes take off and land. A walk along the River Soar is also well worth it and you can hire boats from Barrow Boating as well.

We were visiting relatives who live in Shardlow and were lucky enough to be there when the Inland Port Festival was taking place. We had an excellent meal in the Clock Ware house and drinks. We enjoyed a drink at New Inn, The Malt Shovel and Shakespeare Inn. We had a walk along the canal and surrounding area. We had a canal boat trip which was really good. Our stay overall was wonderful.

My husband, father in law and son stayed for a boys weekend. The room was comfortable and spacious. Equipped with a coffee machine morning was lovely. Breakfast was pre ordered and served at 0830am, fresh and superb. Dinner was booked, delicious and servings were generous. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Can not recommend Queens Head enough.

Mainly spread along a busy road, a few decent size pubs along the way and one very large Marston eatery, and a curry house that does not have a drink licence, whatever next☹️.
Had to get a drink, at the pub across the road, and take it in, then return the glasses later.🤔
Another couple of eateries down on the canal area.
There is also a museum that tells you about the area, which I believe was once what they call an inland harbour.
All in all, it's nice to walk round, have a meal and a beer here n there and, once away from the busy road, enjoy the canal walks.

The whole stay was miserable, the room dirty, the stair carpet dirty.
The welcome was via the main Bar of the pub. The promised items were not dealt with for our room. There was a fridge along the corridor
for cold mis but no milk. The Restaurant was a grand name for a collection of food available from a frozen source.
The system of locking the only connection to the Hotel from the Bedrooms was very alarming. The outside of the place gave a much better description Pub with Rooms, certainly not a luxury Hotel.

Melbourne is a lovely small town with many good individual shops , pubs and restaurants.
The lake at Melbourne Hall is well worth a visit and makes a lovely walk.
Nearby Staunton Harrold has a good garden centre and The Ferrers Centre with unique shops and businesses .
If you like Indian food then Zeerah restaurant is highly recommended but remember to take your own alcohol as it is unlicensed !!

We were pleased with the friendly and helpful staff on duty, after a delayed flight. Our room was spotless and very well appointed, enabling us to relax after a tiring journey and enjoy a uninterrupted sleep in the comfy bed and not having any overhead plane noise at all because of the triple glazed windows.
