We chose to travel to Ruteng to get in touch with locals and they completly integrated us in their community. We enjoyed the talks, the food, the little trips and connected on a deeper level, while still having all the privacy we needed. The family and the community are super welcoming. In short time we learned a lot about the indonesian culture in Ruteng. And we got served home-made coffee from their garden, which tasted amazing. Tipp: Irwan also is an highly experienced tour guide all accross Flores so we recomment getting in touch with him beforehand to plan some hiking tours with him!
