United StatesI stayed at the Ethnotel four different times during my most recent trip to this area of Asia. Because its location is so convenient to the Kolkata Airport, it worked brilliantly as a hub to come back and forth to. The great hotel staff were easy to communicate with, always helpful, and exceptionally kind. A special shoutout to Mr Joy, the hotel driver, who was always able to spot me at the curb for the airport to hotel transfers. Although technically across the street from airport, this isn't anything you'd want to walk since the road is pretty circuitous. You need to arrange a transfer. My rooms were always immaculately clean with strong a/c and good plumbing. Decor wise, yes, the rooms perhaps need to be updated, but the price is right and everything worked. No complaints whatsoever. Room service was good as well as the buffet breakfast in the dining room. I was pleased with everything and everyone here!

Room & AC was ok. Door lock is not working properly.
Room & AC was ok. Door lock is not working properly. Staff is rude. They do not have patience to listen customers concerns. If they do not change the behavior, way of communication, handling customers concern. They may lose business & same customers will not visit again bcz of staffs behavior.

I will never advise to stay it's pathetic arrangement .lack...
I will never advise to stay it's pathetic arrangement .lack of basic amenities like water towel cleanness no service available.at the time of booking I include breakfast and they charges me at the time booking but in reception people said we don't have kitchen to provide breakfast and even they don't return the amount which they charge for breakfast.

Toiletries were inadequate . Bedsheet should not be torn in places, in this aspect management should not turn a blind eye, which they did inspite of being reminded. Wi fi is good. But TV is just a show because only Free to air channels are available. General Cleanliness of the room was good. Geyser works. Breakfast Menu especially on a Sunday Morning is an embarassment compared to what is printed on the MENU and what is available on the on the table or as room service. Staff behaviour is good . The management has to get rid of their take it or leave it policy and overcome their short coming mentioned above.

Kolkata is very fantastic place and we see the glimps of our historical culture. It reminds us our past and culture is still here that we have lost in other cities. It's best city to make visit for our kids. In Delhi and other cities we couldn't find our rituals and customs but here I have seen those things ,we have somewhere forgotten but here everything came back to us .I like most Kolkata city if I get chance to visit my kids again I'll come. Meusium, Victoria palace,new market for shopping,South City mall,everywhere we can eat because good food is available in very cheap onething is that in Kolkata no one can sleep hungry.
I'm very happy to write such comments for Kolkata.

The entire property is not maintain to stay for a single day. AC is Licking, beds are dirty, washroom is not usable. No restaurant are found nearby, reaching by vehicles very problematic. Request to not to recommend others.

Salt lake City is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful area but the Oyo guest house and the owners are worst..they charge extra gst for online booking as well.They didn’t allow to stay before receiving the message though we showed the booking confirmation…

Toilet was in deplorable dirty state, no drinking water, no hot water kettle, no drinking glasses, no sitting chairs, very dirty and torn pillows, room fan was filthy with accumulated dust, only 1 towel supplied, no hand towels, no daily soap, no shampoo, drawers and cupboard insides dirty, dustbin dirty, commode dirty, toilet window filthy....overall a hotel not worthy of any appreciation.

Don't be fool seeing all those good reviews. I think they are all fake. I've been travelling for over 15 year and this hotel was the worst of them
The receptionist was robotic and rude. No smile, no please and he was ordering me to do things!!! He probably did not like because we checked in late. He was treating us like we are a bunch of illigal people wanting to say in his hotel. He was asking for visa, the day we came to india and even took our pictures using his mobile phone!!
The room was on the top floor. It was so so noisy. Everytime a lorry pass by the hotel building, my bed was shaking. It is not possible to sleep at all. The floor was full of dust, toilet was dirty, no toilet paper, even the extractor fan did not work. I asked the receptionist to provide a clean room and this was their clean room. Surprisingly, the bed was comfortable. I will never stay there and avoid it at any cost.

It's actually some shady palce which actually runs by some other name.sharavi tower and not Seema international. There is no facility to lock your room in case you want to go out. Lift is not accessible for boarders.the rooms are dingy shady looking , there is cleaning done in the rooms ever.

The staffs were good and very active but the room is not as shown in the booking page and very very small. Lift is also not working. I must say this is overpriced. Bathroom is also very very small and not worthy.
If yiu are travelling with family, dont book here.

Very Good - What previous guests thought, 77 reviews
Very nice room and rooftop bar and pool. Close to CCU airport and without traffic (5:30 am) it took 5 minutes from the hotel to the airport in hotel-arranged transport. Airport transfers were reasonable and easy to arrange by email in advance. They made a breakfast pack to take away since we had to depart the hotel before breakfast started.
