Staying here was great! It's very close to the airport, and nearby grocery stores. You could walk or ride scooters to just about anywhere if you wanted and the weather was nice. It's a very enjoyable place to stay.

The hosts were fantastic and contactable at all times. They even left treats in the fridge for us. The apartment is gorgeous, very modern and beautifully decorated. The shower was luxurious! A 7 minute drive to the airport. I would highly recommend.

Keflavik International Airport (KEF) Information
Location and Transport
Keflavik International Airport is Iceland’s main aviation hub. It is located 2 miles (3 kilometres) west of Keflavik and 31 miles (50 kilometres) southwest of Reykjavik. There are a few options to get you into central Reykjavik. The cheapest is to take the shuttle bus – either the Airport Express or Flybus, which depart hourly in winter and every half hour in summer, costing ISK 1,800–2,450 depending on the season. Alternatively, a taxi ride from Keflavik Airport to Reykjavik will cost about ISK 10,500.
Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities
There’s one hotel in Keflavik International Airport and several others within 3 miles (5 kilometres), which provide a shuttle service. As airport facilities go, you can rely on free WiFi, charging stations, tourist information and VIP lounges to keep you occupied before takeoff. But what really sets this airport apart is the mesmerising ‘live’ replica of the aurora borealis, projected onto a ceiling structure to create linear lights controlled by live weather data.
Terminal Information
Keflavik International Airport has one terminal, used almost exclusively for international flights. Most domestic flights use Reykjavik Airport, which is situated 2 miles (3 kilometres) from central Reykjavik.

Keflavik is a nice place with some great scenery .
Keflavik is a nice place with some great scenery . Had a nice lunch in the Library pub/ restaurant in main street . Absolutely no tourist information . The town is 40 odd km from Reyjavik , Bus from behind a supermarket , a 2 mile walk from hotel, the bus into the capital is hourly but stopped running at 7 25 pm on returns meaning we missed it after tour and had an extortionate taxi fare to pay to get back , and when i say extortionate i mean extortionate . Also Keflavik is hard to find any eating place for breakfast before 11 am , even the KFC does not open to then .

Easy to reach accommodation, nice room in a house with big communal areas like kitchen and lounge/dining room.
Great location to go anywhere in Iceland. This time I only came to see the active volcano and this accommodation was perfect for my trip. Described with no wifi available, while instead fast wifi was there, so much better than expected. Thanks again.

We chose to stay here on our last night in Iceland, for the convenience of the airport. It was really good, a very easy 10/15 minute drive, with no traffic or weather worries so was well worth it! Its close to blue lagoon too so you could go there, but it was fully booked for us so we drove up to Sky lagoon instead to soother our aching muscles! Has a hot tub which we didn't use as we had been to the lagoon but would have been a nice way to finish off especially as we were treated to a great Aurora display.. a fantastic way to bid farewell to Iceland!
Very well equipped and nicely furnished.
The only slight negative if we were staying longer is the walls were a little thin in the semi detached and you could hear next door at times, as they had a full house, so I would opt for the detached for privacy but fine for us for one night.

Gardur is a convenient location close to the airport. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable, The access was easy with no stairs for brining in luggage. I liked the small town and visiting the lighthouses nearby. I enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again.

Vogar is obviously just a bedroom community for Reykjavik with little there except a hotel, a motel, and a single uninteresting restaurant. It is convenient to the airport, the Blue Lagoon, and an excellent lava tube attraction. It is also close to the recent volcano eruption should you want to see than. The volcano was sleeping when we visited. It is far out of the path of the lava flow so it is quite safe.

Icelandair flies to so many good destinations on the European Continent. And Keflavik is a great stop over from cities in North America. Stay several days in Iceland before moving on. Rent a car in Keflavik and avoid the crowds in Reykjavik. Experience a real Icelandic town and stay at a really nice hotel.

We just spent our last day in this area and overnight for a morning flight. We drove around the peninsula and took in the ocean and lava fields for the last time. The Bridge between the Continents was very interesting. We loved the city of Keflavik and especially the Dunn Museum cafe. (We got there too late for the museum itself.) We both took advantage of the seafood and were not disappointed. Halibut for me, which was fabulous. My husband had a seafood trio with shrimp and lobster. We both cleaned our plates!

It was close to airport.
It was close to airport. Room was overpriced for the accommodation. Breakfast we had to pay for but wish we would have just stopped at a gas station instead. The guy wears a chef jacket but only thing that was cooked was boiled eggs. Price for breakfast was too costly for what you get.

I took some tours that I really enjoyed.
I took some tours that I really enjoyed. The Sky Lagoon, the Blue Lagoon, the Golden Circle and many places in Reykjavik itself. I was disappointed not seeing much of the Northern Lights. The weather decides. Not much luck there. Nothing you can do about it. Worth seeing: The Lava show, Flying over Iceland , Harpa convention center downstairs for the show. Very expensive place. Prepare your budget before going in Iceland. Don't forget the Videy island where there is a Peaceful Tower Lightning in honour of John Lennon. Enjoy your trip.
