Agriturismo La Genziana is a recently renovated farm stay in Alghero where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. With garden views, this accommodation provides a patio. It was such a lovely agriturismo experience! The hosts were incredibly kind and generous, and the breakfast and dinner were fresh and delicious. Everything was farm-to-table and the chicken eggs were amazing for breakfast! I loved seeing all the animals. The donkeys, dogs, and goats were my favorites, but the horses, chickens and ducks were adorable too. We also saw sheep and pigs in the distance. Our charming apartment had two large bedrooms, a spacious bathroom with a great shower and fast hot water, a large kitchen and living room combo with a comfortable couch, and an outdoor table and place to relax. Also, it was very close to the airport which made it great for our early flight. My only suggestion would be to add a foam topper to the bed to make it more comfy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Agriturismo Barbagia, and Paola was a friendly, helpful and charming host! The location is conveniently located a short car ride from the Alghero Airport, several restaurants and a small but well-stocked grocery store. Breakfast was centered on traditional Sardinian possibilities, including yogurt and several cheeses made from the farms's own sheep's milk, and seasonal fruit and juice. Pastries and muffins were homemade as were several jams and jellies. Sardinian cracker bread, called pane di musica, was always served. Lattes and cappucinos were perfect. Although dinners were only available on the weekend during our off-season visit, we were able to enjoy a 7-course meal based on Sardinian dishes and the local (and famous) Cannonau wine. We appreciated being 20 minutes from central Alghero, one of our favorite cities in Sardinia. We loved exploring this region from the Agriturismo Barbagia.
