The value for this hotel was great. Easy access to the surrounding Matsumoto area and national park and mountains. In a quiet location away from the main street and the city center. With a car, this was a good hotel to stay in.

The kids squealed with delight as they walked into the room. The climbing wall and swing chair helped get some of that 5 year old energy out in the morning and before bed. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Facilities in the room made the stay super comfortable. And convenience items were available at the front desk.

A nice and quiet city with a lot to offer.
A nice and quiet city with a lot to offer. A good base for a day trip to Kamikochi which is a fantastic hiking place. Driving around the city is nice with alps on the backdrop. Matsumoto city alps park is a great place for activities and hangout. Tower of beauty has fantastic mountain views and panoramic scenery. Visit the wasabi farm for interesting and nice wasabi products. Last but not least, the beautiful Matsumoto castle, which will light up at night.

Both the private natural hot spring bath and the sauna were amazing. Every facility had a great range of high quality amenities and were spacious, clean, and well maintained. The location was beautiful with traditional Japanese architecture. The gardens were beautiful and I was able to enjoy walks around the premise. The location was easy to reach via rental car since it was very close to the highway exit. I only stayed one night but I wish I had stayed longer to enjoy the stay.

Lake Suwa is phenomenal.
Lake Suwa is phenomenal. The city has several museums and shopping centers. It's really easy to bike around and enjoy the nature. It's also only 30mins by train from Matsumoto. Really quiet and peaceful compared to Tokyo.

I enjoyed the castle and Kamikochi (bus tour with Snow Monkey Resorts), Nawate Market Street, museum, cultural experience (at Mukugean) and Aeon Mall. I stayed for 3 nights but wish I'd stayed longer to allow time for the City Alps Park and some other day trips.

We really liked Matsumoto and it was a much more fun and interesting city than we expected. We had an overnight stay, largely to visit the famous castle, after visiting Kiso valley. Would happily have stayed longer.
