Kandy is a place where you can come and enjoy the nature and culture as well as the old ancient architecture.. Kandy is mainly famous for the Dalada Palace where the Tooth Relic resides..According to me Kandy is the best place for your honeymoon and the most romantic place in Sri Lanka

a mildly weathered city with plenty of family friendly tourist spots. Kandy has a cultural side along with a scenic side to it's offerings for a tourist. people are as nice as anywhere else in sri lanka. food is good in general. we were there for 2 days with a Toddler. we visited the central park, rhe tooth relic temple ( and the neighbourhood), the lake and the local market. we ate at the oak ray hotel, reasonably priced buffet with a great view. we had a short but good time in the city.

We could easily have skipped Kandy and wish we had spent the time elsewhere as there isn’t much to do there. One day is plenty if you just want to visit the temples or to break up your journey onwards. We were lucky as our visit coincided with the parade for Esala Perahera in Kandy, which was a really cool experience and made our visit there worthwhile.

The Grand Randoli, Grand Perahera. A once-in-a-lifetime experience. 4 hours of torch-lit dancing and parading of dozens of magnificently adorned, perfectly-behaved elephants. The huge crowd was good-natured and compliant with police supervision. Warning: you will likely be seated for up to 7 hours without an opportunity to move or attend a toilet. Also, traffic movement afterwards is chaotic, so it pays to spend that night in a centrally-located hotel. Tickets are sold online at exorbitant rates; buy one locally if you arrive a couple of days prior.

Kandy is a nice city with amazing views, it has a lot of mountains for hiking also you can find a lot of natural Gem. Fruits are available everywhere in the city, my favorite fruit was Durian, custard apple and Jackfruit. Overall, people are polite and friendly in Sri Lanka. its worth to visit there.

They were always ready with a smile and helpful recommendations, making me feel like a cherished guest. In conclusion, my stay at Mahaweli Reach hotel was an absolute delight. From the impeccable rooms to the mouthwatering food and outstanding service, it surpassed all my expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a remarkable and unforgettable stay.
