PanamaIt was just exactly what I was looking for in an unexpected overnight stay until my flight the next day. The beautiful receptionist was very cordial, and helpful! A gentleman helped me with my heavy luggage to the second floor! Very reasonable, and perfect for a good rest. The air-conditioning was divine!!!! The room was clean!! Water pressure in shower was great!!! The hot shower after a long flight (8 hrs)was great!!! The cold shower in the morning was great!!!😊They even have a free shuttle to the airport!!!!! Awesome for the incredible price!

CanadaI had an incredible stay at Chelox Panama Airport – this place is truly amazing! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was top-notch. Joselyn, the host, was incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive to every detail, which made me feel right at home.
The location is perfect, especially for travelers flying in or out of Tocumen International Airport – it’s super close and very convenient. Despite its proximity to the airport, the place is peaceful and quiet, which made it easy to relax and unwind.
The property itself is very clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. The room was spacious and comfortable, with excellent air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, and everything I needed for a pleasant stay. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like snacks, toiletries, and helpful local tips.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the warm and personalized service. Joselyn went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed and even helped me arrange transportation. He is an exceptional host who genuinely cares about her guests’ comfort.
I highly recommend Chelox Panama Airport to anyone visiting Panama City, whether you’re stopping over or staying longer. It’s a gem of a place with amazing hospitality – I would definitely stay here again!

The new terminal "C" is spacious clean and definitely not crowded. TSA was efficient and well organized. We were able to get through that in record time with no delays. The food area is well laid out and stocked with a variety of restaurants and stalls. It even has a Gluten Free stand which I have never seen in an airport and truly a great service for those of us that are gluten free.

If you go over carnival it is not peaceful and it's very loud, but we were there in the week and it was beautiful! They have live giards at the big 'pools' in the river which was great. The beer at Artemia was really refreshing and delicious. We had a meal at a local fonda that was delicious. There is a lot of hiking trails, that are well marked. I would not suggest going when it rains, since the roads are very bad and it will be slippery, I also suggest going with a car that is higher off the ground. We did not see any burds really besides ducks, it was eerily quiet during our stay.

The Panamanian culture and people are so so great. Stayed in the old quarter and not downtown and we definitely made the right choice. So many places to eat and hang out. Great rooftop scene. It’s HOT and humid (even more than expected) so be prepared to sweat. Do a walking or bicycle tour. Interesting history. Visited in the rainy season and it was consistently gorgeous in the morning, started raining around 2/3-6 and then stopped in time to go to dinner. I loved it. Can’t wait to go back and visit other parts of the country.

We've now flown through Tocumen Airport a couple times on...
We've now flown through Tocumen Airport a couple times on Copa Airlines on our way from the U.S. to David (and on to Boquete and Volcán) and back. We are not fluent Spanish speakers, but most of the signs are in Spanish and English and many of the staff are bilingual, which greatly eased our figuring out where to go to catch our flight. Entry through Immigration and Customs went smoothly and our luggage has arrived undamaged each time (we did use Air Tags just in case). Returning home was equally smooth - baggage check was easy and Security moved everyone along at an agreeable pace. No surprises. There are plenty of shops and restaurants at the airport if you need to grab something to eat. One proviso: We flew Copa Airlines back to the U.S. and they required us to pass through a second Security check at the departure gate. I'm not entirely sure as to the rationale for this, but it went without a hiccup and we boarded and departed on time. So far, our experiences flying through Tocumen have been positive, unlike what we encountered back in the U.S. at Dulles, which I would absolutely recommend avoiding at all costs if possible due to poor and confusing signage and angry and surly TSA agents.

Quite a long drive up the moutain so I thought it made sense to stay at least 2 nights instead of just one. Two, max three nights I would say. Very isolated and peaceful but nothing to do for more than 2/3days. Walks, hikes, waterfalls, eating, sleeping, relaxing. That's it , nothing else to do there

If you don't mind paying for Uber or taxis and you have money for expensive restaurants, you might like Panama City. Don't think that you will enjoy walking. The sidewalks are irregular and treacherous.

It's about 30 minutes car ride to Panama city, and I loved everything we did. Panama Canal, visited monkey islands, beautiful islands, old town .… great seafood, Columbian food ..enjoyed every food we ate.

I love the architecture in the city.
I love the architecture in the city. The Panamanian people are very helpful, friendly, polite and respectful. The children are very well behaved and just about everyone is very well presented. There is a big police presence in the city but I didn’t see one person stepping out of line and everyone seems contented. I would definitely recommend a visit to the city there is a lot to see for a two week visit. Public transit, taxis and uber is a very affordable way to get around. The city is very walkable and it feels safe in the Casco Veijo area. There are obviously areas that aren’t safe and should be avoided, as with ever city in any country.
