This is a fantastic little gem, especially for stop overs or if you have an early or late flight. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There’s a wonderful little restaurant/cafe out front if you don’t want to walk anywhere for a feed. Rooms are not large but are comfortable and have everything you need. Fridge, aircon, fan, an area to sit both inside and outside. Highly recommend.

I have been in Thailand 30 days and almost finishing my vacation time here, I visited Pattaya, Phuket and the most beautiful beach I found is choeng beach, I went directly to the resort and the beach was amazing clear water and the sand just amazing, I moved my last days to Ban po beach and I regreat not staying my full 5 days in choeng area.

Chaweng is heaving with tourists, far too many for me.
Chaweng is heaving with tourists, far too many for me. The traffic both cars and motorbikes are gridlocked with traffic fumes when you have are inevitably stationery. This year the number of rental cars have increased hugely and it can take an hour to go a distance when several years ago only took 15 minutes. Even on a motorbike/scooter it takes a long time to get anywhere. The pavements are very uneven and I imagine difficult if you have a kids pushchair. Impossible for wheelchair users. Taxi drivers are very dishonest unless you pre book them. There are many disused shops/buildings that have fell into disrepair that give chaweng a forlorn uncared for ambience unless you are in a luxury hotel.

It is beautiful, wonderful, crystal clear, turquoise water. Do NOT let the reviews that say that this beach is "busy, loud, too crowded" deter you from coming. We were here in January-February during peak season and it was perfect! Never too crowded and never too empty. Perfect in my experience, I would come back. I did not prefer nor enjoy Lamai beach (supposed to be better, but I disagree).

Out of all the beaches we visited and stayed on, Bophut was - by far - the best. Clean, pretty, and pleasant to stroll on. Fisherman's Village is on the beach and a great place to grab lunch, dinner, or shop. Bophut is a great beach to visit and stay on.

Bangrak Beach is certainly not the nicest area on Koh Samui...
Bangrak Beach is certainly not the nicest area on Koh Samui but it's conveniently close to the airport and the Bangrak Beach Pier to take the ferry over to Koh Phangang. Therefore a good place to spend a night if your flight arrives/departs too late/early for the ferry to Koh Phangang.

we loved taking regular dips in the ocean from the pool area.
we loved taking regular dips in the ocean from the pool area. the water was super clear and the sand hard packed and shallow for quite a distance. we loved to walk out and float in the ocean looking back at the hotel.
