Kwale Residence is a recently renovated homestay in Zanzibar City where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. It’s very close to the airport so great the night before a flight. It’s in a secluded area but very nice rooms. Staff are great and help you find the location and book a taxi at the right time.

Anayah House enjoys a location in Kiembi Samaki, 3.7 miles from Peace Memorial Museum and 4.1 miles from St Joseph's Roman Catholic Cathedral. The hosts and of course Anayah were extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a 4am check-in and was left with little yellow ducks to find our way to the room, without disturbing anyone. Close to the airport, walking distance even with luggages.

Beautiful small apt close to Mbweni Ruins and Wooden Table Restaurant (recommended for delightful ambience and beach access in a 15 minutes walk). Near Karume Institute of Science and Technology (where I was guest engineering instructor) and not far from Parliament bldg. Owner attended to my every need and offered a delicious breakfast in the small private courtyard which also houses the covered kitchen area. Bathroom had modern attractive plumbing fixtures. Bed was comfortable and small settee and elegant coffee table served well for tea/coffee. AC and overhead fan kept the room cool in Zanzibar heat, and the tiny private courtyard with coffee table and chairs offered open-air enjoyment among greenery and overhead banana leaves. Definitely plan to stay again! Nice respite from Stone Town bustle, and easy walk to a stellar beach with one of the best sunsets on Zanzibar (many of the Dhou sunset cruises anchor offshore to enjoy).
