Caught an amazing deal for 2 nights. Was nervous, at first, fully aware of the adage "You get what you pay for!" Intuition told me to roll the dice and we were pleasantly surprised! 👍

I can't comment about the location or experience since I did not stay there. Due to personal problems I could not travel and couldn't stay, I requested multiple times to the property and booking.com to get me some refund but I did not get even 1% of the refund. I had booked for 8 nights, would have been great If could have got 50% of the refund atleast.

The front desk staff was nice.
The front desk staff was nice. The explanation for the towel's situation was if you wanted clean towels and washcloths, we had to bring the dirty towels up to the front and they will give us clean towels. I do not know if the bed sheets were laundered properly, but on the bed next to the window and air conditioner, there were spots on the bottom bed sheet. I was told that the housekeeper was not there, and it would take two people to change the bottom sheets. So, I asked for a sheet and had to place the sheet across the sheet and my son slept on the bed. Never in my life had I been in such a place that housed the homeless, but that is ok. I think that Booking.com needs to check out the hotels before sending customers in there.

The room itself was great!
The room itself was great! The front desk check-in was the worst I've ever experienced and the facilities had rules not mentioned or posted that directly affected our stay. The pool was dirty, the hot tub was dirty and water was tepid. The outdoor pavilion was nice with a grill etc., but dog feces were everywhere...shame on the pet owners but also the facility not to notice. Breakfast had a lot of choices which we were grateful for.

The entire hotel smells of marijuana and cigarette smoke.
The entire hotel smells of marijuana and cigarette smoke. The rooms are just ok. Check your towels and washcloths before using to make sure there aren't stray hairs from previous use. Pillows are couch pillow size. Pay your deposit in cash and wait while they inspect, otherwise they refund that day to your card and then charge your card 4 days later saying you smoked in the room. We absolutely did not. My mother even went outside in her pajamas to smoke. Elevator is nasty and ridiculously slow. Not even sure how its passing inspection when most of the safety writing is worn of. Hallways are dark. Room with the ice machine is sketchy at best, and no light. Did not see a sign of breakfast, coffee or anything of the sort while we were there.

Wilmington is not a big town.
Wilmington is not a big town. It is a lovely town, but you can walk it in a day.
Split it into two. Enjoy the renovated riverside with its history, the Children's Museum and the great selection of restaurants and bars. Then enjoy a walking tout of the town.
The architecture is amazingly diverse from the Quaker town hall to the ugly glass financial buildings. All architecture students should spend time there and learn from history what they should do and from the present developments what they shouldn't!

Clean room with all amenities AND at a budget price .
Clean room with all amenities AND at a budget price .Off street parking with a modicum of security surveillance . Friendly desk clerk , obviously an owner . Reading on in this survey I must admit to having NOT visited or done any of the points in Question 4 and Q 6
Calling the place Newcastle is somewhat misleading since the Superlodge is actually in a south extension of WILMINGTON, which is closer than Newcastle .
I stayed here BECAUSE OF THE MOTEL SUPERLODGE .
Knowing the existence of and actual location of the" Dutch House "
might have induced me to look it up though.
Getting around the Wilmington area was quite simple and straightforward because I travel with NO PLANNED or required route .
I am not going anywhere in particular so it is impossible to get lost . After the overnight in Superlodge I made a point of following the US13Business route all the way into Philadelphia city center . It took something like four hours which was fine by me as I wanted to see the locale through all the new and old 'burbs and industrial zones as they might come . Urban study , if you will.

If you like to feel at home in a very clean and quiet environment then you'll love it here. Light breakfast, parking, wifi, garden, large back yard, balcony, many restaurants and excursions, cleaning and body products included in room. Super friendly and informative host and locals, private/hassle free check in/out, pool tables and several games in the lounge area located near kitchen, options for spa and so many more. It is my new weekend getaway. I highly recommend (I'm very particular) and definitely book a trip on the Wilmington & Western Railroad steam train ride.

For the price, it was ok.
For the price, it was ok. The English of the clerk who checked me in was very hard to understand. I had to ask him several times to repeat himself. The bed was like sleeping on the floor...way too hard and uncomfortable. Supposedly, breakfast was an offered amenity...don't wake up hungry...there was NO breakfast offered and what coffee they had was cold. I cannot give a very high rating this time.

I want to return very soon.
I want to return very soon. I slept well and enjoy your surroundings.
Its a nice bathroom and the space is spacious and quiet. Parking was challenging since the plant overgrowth makes it difficult to park IF there are MORE than 6 vehicles.
There are any number of suggestions I would offer but I suspect that you may not wish to hear them. So, I will keep my counsel unless you explicitly ask for my feedback.
For sure, I will need to reserve a room with an attached bathroom in the future. I will also need to bring my own bread or bagels for toasting for breakfast. My own cutlery would be useful as well.
I like your accommodations enough that I wish to return there soon.
May I ask of you if you know anything about the St. Georges Country Store and Creamery? IF you do, PLEASE share. I found it last week by accident. They have live blues music 3 nights per week.
I hope to meet you, Karin, on my next visit. You were at a convention while Piotr manned the fort. We discovered that we both speak Polish.
How likely is that to happen? Anyway, he is most friendly and a real gentle man.
I look forward to chatting with you at length.
Gently,
Steve B,
