HUGELY expensive, over £80 in a pub for 2 sandwiches, shared fries and 2 drinks. Nothing special or fancy. Drinks and meals out very verycostly. South Beach was quite stony until you got a way out into the water, surprisingly. Didn't visit any others as there only 2 days. Also took 2 hours to get through passport control at airport, just 2 officers. Luggage had been taken off beltby then ^ wheels broken off new luggage. Witnessed staff literally hurling luggage so that it missed belt completely skidding across floor
A vacation begins in your mind months before it takes place. Careful detail to planning and budgeting for it, is of utmost importance. However, when mishaps occur, all the planning goes out the window. Such was the case when all 3 elevators at the hotel went out of service due to mechanical issues. First it was one elevator out of service for one day; then a 2nd elevator went out of service the day after, and the wait times got longer, as only one elevator was left working, Then, on the 3rd day, the 3rd elevator went out of service and we had to climb up 6 floors via the emergency exit stairs without air conditioning, and that's when we thought our vacation was over.
The beach was beautiful and there were a couple of restaurants that you can walk to to have dinner. The food was great at the Tavern and it was nice that the hotel had bike rentals for free for the guests. Also, it was easy to navigate around Miami from the hotel. The only thing I did not like is paying for parking at the hotel.
Restaurant needed to upgrade on their food menu That amazing picture in the elevator of the food items Should have been served on the menu like nachos Quesadillas was not good friends was not good
Miami Beach is a combination of nightlife, cafes and the beautiful Caribbean. If you want to be 'in the mix' South Beach is for you. If you want to relax, just head to the sand. We stayed in an apartment. There plenty of grocery stores to supply what is needed for breakfast and snacks. And when you are ready to shop or see more of Miami, you have a 15-minute drive to the malls, the Grove or other spots.
Lots of deferred maintenance and the room smelled like sewage/garbage. When I informed the staff the customer service declined as they tried to justify the smell and make excuses. They tried to blame me, however I had just checked into the room. I had to have the front desk clerk come to the room with me to verify I was telling the truth. Nothing about this hotel is good. The breakfast is horrible, milk was sour, and the cereal stale. The hotel does not properly represent the Wyndham collection; it gives the brand a bad name.
