I stay in this hotel for many years since 2006. They built a new building, and the rooms there are very good and modern in this building. The bathroom had a jacuzzi, which is also a plus. They don't offer breakfast anymore, but their restaurant is good. The check in and check out were very fast. I enjoyed staying there again.

John Wayne Airport (SNA) Information

Location and Transport

John Wayne Airport sits on the edge of the city of Santa Ana (6 miles/10 kilometres from the centre) but it’s reached via the town of Irvine. Taxis and shuttles take around 20 minutes to get the centre of Santa Ana and cost about USD 30. During the week, public buses 76 and 212 run hourly from around 06:00 until 18:00. There’s also a bus to Disneyland® in LA, which leaves from Arrivals and departs hourly between 08:00 and 19:00.

There are a couple of hotels located just beyond the terminals with many connected by shuttle bus. More options can be found around the neighbouring Irvine Business Complex. Inside the terminals, you’ll find free WiFi, power sockets for charging up portable devices and lockers, as well as lots of eating and shopping options. Had a great time. Hotel was a bit dated.

Had a great time. Hotel was a bit dated. Parking is ridiculously expensive. The pool bar was closed for the season and I didn’t realize this until after we were already hanging out at the pool. The guests that were at the pool obviously didn’t like that we brought our 2 little boys with us and kept shaking their heads at us. The bed and pillows were very comfy! The Starbucks and little shop in the hotel that sold snacks were SO expensive. The tiny chocolate milk being sold at Starbucks was the same cost as a happy meal across the street at McDonald’s! We probably wouldn’t choose to stay here again, but it was comfortable and convenient to our plans in Costa Mesa. FYI: The pictures don’t show it, but there is an awkward building that sells cars or something on the same property. All of the pictures on the website angle the photos where the building isn’t there, but it is RIGHT there blocking a lot of the building.

I've stayed in many hotels and the staff here was one of the best! the location is convenient for traveling to neighboring cities/towns/beaches. There are shops/restaurants within walking distance as well which was a nice added bonus.

Santa Ana is my hometown, although I live elsewhere now.

Santa Ana is my hometown, although I live elsewhere now. Santa Ana has many sights to see. It is also within a moderate driving distance to beaches, amusement parks, and other entertainment venues. Santa Ana and Orange County are nice places to visit and explore.

Newport is a lovely town that isn't talked about enough.

Newport is a lovely town that isn't talked about enough. I'm not a world traveler by any means but it's a wonderful escape from any busy life and although dinning and entertainment can be a bit pricey I'd say for a short visit to reset your mental and possibly even physical health it would be most worth it!

Tustin is a nice little area with places around to explore! We were there for a Punk festival but there were amazing food places near by! Citrus Cafe was incredible for breakfast, Terra Mia pizzeria was amazing as well! Definitely a nice little stop to have a get away vacation! Only thing is be careful of maps trying to put you on toll road 261 for short trips

The traffic noise was unbearable. the 405 was right outside.

The traffic noise was unbearable. the 405 was right outside. I had earplugs and 2 additional head wear pieces plus the pillow over my head and I could not sleep. Also the shower was so strong it was painful. The smoke alarm had been removed - a big safety issue! We tried to cancel for the next day and the front desk said yes but then the big boss said no. This is not a way to run a business.

The new upgraded rooms are a big plus. If you want a place to stay that is centrally located this is a excellent place. The staff is very friendly. The place to go to eat and has a variety is the Mercado Market. Very easy to get around.

Irvine was a central location for the activities we had...

Irvine was a central location for the activities we had planned for our vacation. We spent a lot of time at the beach and our hotel in Irvine was a short drive to the beaches we visited. Everything we wanted and needed was within a short distance from the hotel. We didn't have to drive freeways to Newport Beach which is where we spent much our time.

The arts district is very cool, loads of great restaurants (try Lola Gaspar for Michellin rated tacos and great cocktails) and plenty of other cool bars, as well as Mexican street food vendors and cool galleries, shops and a couple of art-house cinema's. Would definitely go there again.

I have always enjoyed coming here to fish and eat.

I have always enjoyed coming here to fish and eat. We took family pictures here one year. Great place to hang out and highly recommend the deap sea fishing out of Newport Landing. It's a little pricey but you can always find a Groupon.

It is a beautiful hotel with a courtyard in the middle that is well landscaped with lots of trees, chairs, and tables. They have large spacious rooms with a mini fridge and microwave. There is a free shuttle to and from the SNA airport. There is a pool and jacuzzi. They have a great free hot breakfast buffet with lots of choices including scrambled eggs made several different ways , sausage, bagels, waffles. Highly recommended
