Residence Patras was outstanding. Top five of places I have ever stayed, worldwide. The desk staff were wonderful - kind and helpful, even ringing the bus station for me to get times as the KTEA website is less than helpful, in English or Greek! The room was spacious – huge! – and very quiet, despite being overlooking a busy street. The bathroom was large and modern, with excellent shower power. The air-com worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable. A wee kettle and teabags were a lovely surprise (coffee Nespresso machine and hot plate, too). The TV worked, with BBC News and some channels in English with Greek dubbing. The breakfast buffet was varied, plentiful and delicious. I was racing for a bus so took a goody bag for my journey! The bus station is 600m away, and the train station 400m, although trains are rare on the Peloponese. Don't be fooled by the sign at the train station to Olympia. Trains haven't run there 'for a decade'!
