Beautiful views from the apartment and only 7 minute drive to Sougia. Great place to stay while we hiked around the trails in the area in the off season. The kitchen was good to make meals since most all restaurants are closed in late November.

Our time at Azogire Traditional Houses was incredible & way beyond our expectations! We were planning to stay in Sougia but our hotel there cancelled last minute and this was the closest accommodation we could find with availability. I’m so happy that we stumbled upon Azogires and would love to return to this property. It’s a stunning 40 minute drive through the olive groves and epic mountains down to Sougia, one of our favorite beaches in Crete. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the drive each day. The room itself was impeccably clean, the bed was comfortable, and the check-in process was a breeze. The pool was a wonderful addition to our stay, and the location of the property is just unbeatable for a unique and wonderful, relaxing experience as you drive through Crete. There is a fabulous taverna serving delicious local food & perfect coffee right nextdoor, a very cute local arts and craft shop & gallery, and a beautiful uphill hiking trail where you will see horses & sheep & hear their bells ringing. The setting felt magical. It’s convenient to several attractions & popular beaches but feels more tucked away, quiet, private and peaceful since it’s such a small, beautiful village. 10/10 in every way and we would return in a heartbeat!

We were blown away by how modern and clean the place was. We were expecting a small older bed and breakfast but each suite was more like a full apartment! We stayed in the Minos suite which was two levels. The windows were very well designed and offered multiple ways to open to the outside. The owner was very nice and the check in and check out process was very quick and easy. 10/10 would stay here again if we decide to hike the entirety of the Samaria Gorge one day.

Maria, the host, was wonderful and sweet. The room was spacious and clean as can be. Great balcony, bathroom, and outside area. The food was delicious and fresh. The location just off the road and next to Agia Irini is perfect for hikers with rental car or even by bus/taxi. If you want to visit Sougia you’re better off staying here and traveling down. Truly wonderful

Wow, what an incredible stay! We had such a lovely welcome with freshly baked pastries offered from the Vakakis bakery :D The place is beautiful and as pictured. It was so clear that our experience as guests was really considered. It felt very cozy and had everything we needed, with lovely views from the terrace/balconies. Would love to stay there again and highly recommend!

Host greeted us upon arrival. They were nice to leave some fruits in the refrigerator and we were tired and hungry upon arrival so it was very nice. we were surprised to find out how clean and tidy the place is. they have a washing machine which is very useful to us.

Everything was amazing, the area is quiet and beautiful, we had everything we needed at Vakakis, the studio was beautiful and clean. Bed very comfortable! Upon arrival we have found lots of yummy treats. Their baked goods are amazing! I wish we could have stayed longer! See you next time and thank you!
