Located on the Montjuïc hill, the Olympic and Sports Museum Joan Antoni Samaranch offers a permanent collection of sports memorabilia as well as interactive exhibitions and multimedia installations dedicated to various sports disciplines. You’ll also have the chance to learn more about the recent history of the Olympic Games, starting with the 1992 edition which took place in Barcelona, up to the 2012 games in London.
The museum is organised into sections focused on different aspects of the sports world, including a prominent space devoted to adapted sports for disabled people. You’ll get to admire an extensive collection of items related to the opening ceremonies of the 1992 Olympics and their mascots, Cobi and Petra. You’ll also recognise iconic objects belonging to all-time champions such as basketball players Michael Jordan, Pau Gasol and Roberto Dueñas.
Thanks to the museum’s interactive experiences, you’ll have the chance to run against Carl Lewis or Usain Bolt, swim with Mark Spitz or Michael Phelps and get a first-hand demonstration of the challenges athletes face in their sporting endeavours.

The museum is fully accessible and wheelchairs can be rented on site.
You are advised to allocate at least 75 minutes for the whole visit.
Please note that admission is free on 12 February (Santa Eulalia), 18 May (International Museum Day) and 24 September (Fiesta de la Mercè).
