Know all about one of the greatest British inventions and its role in social communication
The Postal Museum is one of London's newest attractions and offers insights into the rich history of the Royal Mail. Visitors are invited to go for a ride on the world's first driverless electric rail system, the miniature underground rail network which used to deliver mail around London until fairly recently.
Visitors get to find out about the whole journey undertaken by posted items, try on vintage uniforms, send their own message via a pneumatic tube, and even try their hand at sorting mail as it used to be done – on a swaying train carriage. Audio guides are available in 5 languages.
15-20 Phoenix Place, London, WC1X 0DA
