This is a unique opportunity to learn to cook authentic Japanese food from a local expert in her home. If you choose the market tour option, visit one of Japan's iconic markets, Kappabashi or your host's neighborhood market, Yotsuya in addition to your cooking class. Your host Miki will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the market or her home, all while giving you a tour of the city from a local's perspective. Get ready for an immersive, hands-on, Japanese cooking class with your host, a fun local passionate about food. Choose between sushi (temari or chirashi), bento (Wagyu steak or miso marinated fish), or gyoza as the main dish. You will also learn to make miso soup, sushi rice and two authentic Japanese vegetable sides from scratch. This experience gives you a true glimpse into a Japanese local's home, life, and culture. The experience includes round-trip transfers in your host's car.
