Get ready for an unforgettable journey through one of Europe’s longest and most breathtaking gorges! This is a full-day hiking adventure, ideal for nature lovers and active explorers. You’ll hike approximately 16 kilometers through dramatic landscapes, towering cliffs, ancient forests, and the famous narrow passage known as the “Iron Gates.” Along the way, you might spot the rare Cretan wild goat (Kri-Kri) and enjoy the rich, wild beauty of Crete's national park. The hike typically takes between 5 to 7 hours, depending on your pace, and ends at the peaceful seaside village of Agia Roumeli. Here, you’ll have free time to relax, enjoy a swim in the crystal-clear Libyan Sea, and have lunch at one of the charming seaside tavernas. After recharging by the sea, we board the ferry-boat to Sougia, cruising along Crete’s rugged southern coastline. At Sougia, our bus will be waiting to comfortably drive you back to Chania after a day full of adventure and natural beauty.

Elafonisi is a place of exceptional natural beauty, something between an island and a peninsula, as you have to walk through the sea to reach it. Once occupied by pirates, today it is a very popular destination for day trippers who flood there to faraway lagoon, whilst having a Mediterranean holiday. Elafonisi is a paradise on earth – a heaven of unparalleled beauty. It is covered with sand dunes, low trees, bushes, sand lilies and junipers. You can get there on foot from the beach by passing through shallow aquamarine and turquoise waters. The white and pink sand made of thousands of broken seashells, the limpid blue-green waters, the little coves and the secluded tiny beaches remind the travelers of a paradise lost. Your tour will start off with a quick Stand Up Paddling -SUP- lesson, a short demonstration on how to control your stand up paddle board and manoeuvre with skill, until you grow confident on it. If you already have some paddle boarding experience, we can show you new skills and provide unique and useful tips to help you improve. Each person will be provided with their own SUP and safety gear and then, we will head towards the jetty to enter the water and start our fun and playful aquatic adventure! This guided tour takes a route along the scenic waterfront of Marathi Bay, giving you 360° views of imposing rock formations, inviting you to dive into the endless, transparent Greek blue and teach you all about the fascinating yet fragile Mediterranean ecosystem. We often spot sea turtles, and we always see a variety of sea urchins, native as well as invasive fish. In this 2 hours venture, full of surprise elements, you will have ample time to swim, sunbathe, talk, make new friends, take pictures and videos and just relax under the Cretan sun! Your full-day (12-hour) excursion to Samaria Gorge begins with a pick-up 6.00 a.m. from Chania and a drive to Omalos, in the heart of the White Mountains, where you can enjoy breakfast before you start the hike. The trek will take you over rocks and stones, through a forest of thousand-year-old trees and along a river and by fresh-water springs. Our day starts early in the morning when the bus will pick us up from your hotel and after a beautiful drive, passing from picturesque villages that emerge through the green mountains, we will reach the area of Elafonissi. The beautiful sandy beaches fringed with pink coral sand and the crystal clear waters of the sea and the lagoon, will make you feel like being in heaven. Wade through the knee deep water of the lagoon (sometimes the channel closes and you can walk all the way without having to get your feet wet) and head to the island. There are many small beaches on the South side and the further you walk the quieter it gets. The water is generally quite shallow and safe for children. After a 5-hour stay in Elafonissi, our comfortable bus will return us back to the hotel, late in the afternoon.
