Loved the hospitality. The in-house team made our check-in very smooth. They stayed in touch over WhatsApp while we made our way to the island. Once at the island, the coordination of the transfer vehicle was done efficiently by Mr Putu. We were greeted nicely at the property by Wyan. Our luggage was handled well. We were explained everything neatly. Our breakfast preferences were well noted. And our rooms were all ready to welcome us. We stayed for four nights. The daily housekeeping follow-up was superb. They even arranged scooties at a reasonable price during our stay. Any specific requests (be it an extra round of mop, more water, or an early breakfast request) were handled with politeness and a smile. The rooms are aesthetically designed. We had booked Umah Poan. The attic, the pool, the beds, the breakfast sitout, everything was up to the mark. The overall experience at Umah Ilu was one of marvel and fond memories. We look forward to being here again, and again. Love the people. Love the place. Love its history. Love every corner of it.

Rooms were very clean and the bed was also very comfortable to lay in. The breakfast variety was great, you could choose from a number of options and everything was super delicious! The pool was a great area to relax throughout the day and the common area was amazing to chat and play some cards with a few friends. The staff were amazing and for sure one of our highlights from our Nusa Penida trip. Imam was extremely nice and always there to help us with any suggestions, a simple greet and smile whenever he'd see us, help us change our bikes, or anything that we needed – he was there.

Cassava Penida Cottages is an absolute gem—truly a perfect stay. While the location isn’t right in the center of everything, that only adds to its charm, providing a more private and peaceful experience. The room was beautifully designed and comfortable, making it a great place to relax. I was working remotely during my stay, and while the WiFi in one of the rooms had a weak signal, the host immediately accommodated us by switching rooms the next day, ensuring a seamless experience. The service here is exceptional. Breakfast is included daily, with multiple choices, and the host personally delivers it to the room so you can enjoy it outside at your own table—a thoughtful touch that makes mornings even better. She also offers motorbike rentals and transport services, which we didn’t use but were clearly well-organized and convenient. Overall, this place offers an intimate and secluded retreat with top-tier hospitality. If I could give 6 stars, I would, but since that’s not an option, it’s an easy 5-star review. Highly recommended!

Owners and caretaker were very accommodating. We didn’t know how to ride a bike so we asked if they could drop us off to a beach club and picked us up at night and they did and we just paid. They gave us bottled water daily and had housekeeping available too. Owner gave us free coconut water which was a really nice gesture.

You get your own glamping tent which rather feels like a tiny home with couch, table and chairs, water cooker and tea, tv and a bed. Air con and shower worked perfectly and the bed was comfy. All in all felt like a home for our 5 days there, staff and owner are all lovely and you can get a great and filling breakfast for 50k which we had almost every day. Pool and hang out spot is a nice extra if you wanna just chill.

As everyone else said, the owners are incredible. Putu and his wife worked over 30 years in hospitality in Bali before starting this place - it shows! Incredible attention to detail when it comes to their guests and making their visit amazing and memorable.

Very cute clean bungalows right across the road from the beach. Positioned on the island for peaceful evenings away from the business of the centre. Hosts were fantastic, helpful and very friendly ❤️
