We were a little apprehensive about the neighbourhood after reading some of the reviews, but we ran into zero issues! Just practise caution + common sense since this is downtown LA. Apartment was spacious and comfy, we had covered garage parking in the same building accessible by lift, and overall had a super comfortable and enjoyable stay! Mike who checked us in was also super helpful and friendly. Apartment was actually at 1360 S Figueroa St Suites.

Great location, clean and neat room with all necessary amenities. Very close to the beach (however not that many proper groceries around), all done electronically (pin for the main entrance and room entrance), comfy bed, functional AC, there was also a beach set (beach bag with towels), I couldn’t find any cons honestly, we were very happy with our stay.
