This hotel is brand new building with comfortable furnitures, great view on Douro area landscapes and big and clean rooms. The owner is very polite, positive and helpful. The hotel serves delicious breakfests, with great homemade sweets, fruits, cheese and much more. There is also possibility to leave the car in closed private area near building. I highly recomend this location if you want to visit Douro region and also arrive to Porto by car.

Our stay was more like a visit with good friends and a highlight of our month long journey through Portugal. We tried to stray from the main tourist route and were amply rewarded! Our hosts, Luiz & Celia, restored the family mansion to its original splendor, in a very authentic manner - the main house as well as the enticing adjacent old stone cottages, which are self- catering. Luiz took us to the remains of the Roman bridge and road, well worth a visit. He also showed us around his own house, a remarkable 'house museum'. Definately worth a detour.

It is a piece of paradise on earth: exactly what I was looking for: cozy antic houses, swimming pool, beautiful views, picnic area under the trees, and a river cascate where to take a dip! Also, not too many people… Actually, it is better in reality than on the photos! Staff was very nice and helpful, and the food in the restaurant good and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this place to those looking for a moment of disconnect and nature!
