I used this as a base for hiking nearby stretches of the Fisherman's Trail. Communication with the host was prompt and friendly; she was very patient with my logistical questions arising from traveling without a car. The upstairs bedroom is a lovely space with windows on two sides, wooden floor and an eclectic library including books in English and German. The shower was great with good water pressure and hot water which I appreciated after long hikes along the coast. The location is described as being close to the beach. It's better than that. The walk to the beach is through a beautiful natural setting. In literally one minute you're on the Fisherman's trail, with trail markers in both directions. The beach is wild, entirely undeveloped. Because of the proximity I walked to the nearby rocky point three times in four days - rain and sun, dawn and dusk. It seems to be a quieter place to surf than nearby Arrifana.
