We had a huge, beautiful bedroom and bathroom overlooking the garden in this stunning chateau. Rodolphe and Maxence were wonderful hosts and a highlight of the stay was the breakfast each morning around the large table in a tastefully furnished room. Adjoining this room was a lounge for guests, with books and guides for the area, tea and coffee facilities and treats! Bernières-sur-Mer is a lovely village and close to many sites of interest. It is especially well-located for visiting the D-day landing beaches and associated museums and memorials in the area - the memorial museum in Caen was a particular highlight. It was also very easy to reach Bayeux, which was beautiful. There are bikes available at La Maison and we spent one day visiting some of the beaches along the cycle path, which was very special. Thank you very much, Rodolphe and Maxence, for your kindness and generosity.

Since we had to drive to Le Domaine de l'Hostellerie from Caen, we were a bit concerned that the location was remote from nearby cities. However, after settling down, we were very happy with the peaceful setting, beautifully decorated rooms. The breakfast spread was very generous with all sorts of bread, croissants, crepe, charcuterie selections. The hosts are a nice young couple and they made us feel very welcomed. They recommended we dine at Le Comptoir restaurant (20 min away). I'm glad we did because we got to see Juno beach (one of the D-Day beaches) . Such a personable experience vs staying at a hotel.

the property was well maintained, rooms very comfortable. we had one of the small suites. nothing fancy in the rooms but it certainly fit for an older home. My son loved the WW ll memorabilia, which is why we stayed here.

One of the really few truly deserved 10 star ratings. Amazing historic house, perfectly maintained, stylishly furnished and with parking and a calm yard. Excellent location, close to everything in the city - the beach, the port, nice restaurant, supermarket and at the same time in a quiet street. I can recommend having breakfast as well, high quality typical for the region products, served in the relaxed garden - a perfect start of the day. And last, but definitely not least the fantastic hosts Laurence and Rodolphe, make you feel like you are visiting old friends who take great care of you, to have your full comfort (speaking fluent English and German as well). When I go back to Normandy will be my mandatory stop

    The room is quiet and private , but haas a nice outdoor space. Bea brings a lovely bfast to your outdoor locker so there was no pressure on time . We had a full evening meal which was wonderful. Our dog also enjoyed his stay xx
