Being tucked away with just a couple of horses for neighbours, in a stylish and immaculately clean studio, a stones throw from the heathland was perfect. We were asked about dietary requirements in advance and just hoped we might get some nondairy milk, we got so much more - mushrooms, bread, jam, marmite, plant based butter (not marg), cereal, granola, berries, orange juice, tea and coffee and all good quality (Waitrose). Honestly excellent :)

The quiet setting was to our liking as was the conversion of this old building to a place to stay. It had a charm about it and the host was both welcoming and helpful. The bathrooms were magnificent. I almost failed to mention how close it is to the New Forest which is utterly wild and beautiful. Great for walks and cycling.

The tea-tray in the room was generous (there were nice biscuits on offer in a jar) and this made us feel welcome. We had dinner in the restaurant -- fish and chips with house wine. The food was good, reasonably priced, and the waitress was charming. Breakfast was also good. The room was well decorated and very comfortable.

Having had an extended stay of 40+ days I would recommend the Prince Consort to anyone,from the moment that I walked in the door the staff were helpful and friendly,the same can be said for the regulars. The food is good quality and large portions, the rooms are comfortable and tidy. I cannot recommend the Prince Consort enough.

    For us the location was perfect. With the horses right outside in the morning and views over the fields. It is down a private drive and very quiet. The bed was comfortable and there was a large tv and plenty of room. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was a self cook streaky bacon and eggs with milk and various cereals. Met the host before we left as she was mucking the horses out. Appreciated the late 11am leaving time. Overall a very good experience.
