Very clean and modern, cozy/comfortable, very well equipped room (wonderful bed, luxurious linens and towels, heated towel rack, bowl of fresh fruit, espresso maker, juice and water in the fridge, windows that one could open, blackout curtains), quiet, conveniently located. Empire Suites had a great location in a 400 year old house on an Amsterdam canal and a block from a tram stop for easy access to the rest of Amsterdam. The owners were a pleasure to work with and even brought our large back upstairs when it arrived after the airline had misplaced it - we didn't have to miss any of our touring.

This must be the most traditional house in the Netherlands. It is situated in a quiet, beautiful riverside neighbourhood in the north of Amsterdam. The house is fully equipped and the kind landlord welcomed me with open arms and gave me the use of his bike for free! You know the bike is necessary for exploring this city. On top of that, the landlord is a great cook and prepared me a traditional Dutch breakfast on both days! It's definitely worth the price! Especially if you're going to be travelling solo like I was, it's awesome to enjoy cycling along the lake to the marina to catch the free ferry!

It was a very unique and quintessential experience in Amsterdam. The host was very helpful and responsive, deserving of the many positive reviews. She also provided a number of tips for restaurants and cafés, for which my stay was unfortunately too short to try them all. I happened to be there on the day when the market around the corner was on (Albert Cryp Marché), and it was very convenient. I arrived in the morning and the host also provided some suggestions and links where I might be able to store my bag before I could check in.

    Frank is a great host, he is very kind. The house is really nice, is in a great location, near to the city center, and is also very quiet. Breakfast is very various and in the morning it's a pleasure having a tee in the kitchen I hope to return soon.
