Michelle was so very helpful. She has a perfect spot for quietness and stillness to relax in. She had the room warm when we arrived, as a cold snap was coming through. She also was more than generous with the breakfast choices especially free range eggs and treats.

Quiet and relaxing, breakfast setup was very convenient, seems to be tucked away from everything, but still close to town (~15 min drive) and not far from Tongariro Alpine crossing car park (~40 min drive). There are several common spaces available to guests such as the library, hot tub, sitting room and dining room.

Under floor heating in ensuite. Shower great. Lovely big lounge. Hosts turned the heater on for us so it was warm when we arrived and also when we arrived back from a wedding on a cold, wet and windy night. Spotlessly clean.

Located in Waiouru, 28 miles from Turoa, Roadside Motel has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. The inn has family rooms.

Beds are warm and comfortable each bed is fitted with electric blankets, there is a microwave bar fridge, toaster, electric stove top and oven, pots pans and utensils for cooking, wall heater is enough to keep living and sleeping area cosy and fan heater is perfect for the kitchen which also heats the bathroom. Each room has a shower and toilet which is something I need for two young children. Tv with a freeview box I'd recommend bringing your own Chromecast or Amazon stick for movies if you're staying for a couple of days or more. This motel is my go-to for affordable accommodation in waiouru it has everything we need as a family it has a laundromat (cash only) next door down the long driveway, across the road from the takeaways which is handy, subway on the right and Z gas station on the left which is 24hours. Cherie is a wonderful host and we always love staying at the roadside motel.
