Our first stop in Sumatra was at Lilly's Guesthouse, where we were very warmly welcomed by her and her husband Ishako. From the first moment we felt welcome and completely at home. We booked a two-day jungle trek. Our adventure began on the second day after our arrival, together with our guide Iman and a French couple, Carolane and Romain. There was immediately a nice click, and so we trekked into the jungle together. Blood, sweat, but no tears - what an experience! Without Iman, the trek would definitely not have been the same. What a top guy! After two days of trekking and a night's sleep in the middle of the jungle, we arrived safely back at the guesthouse. How happy we were to finally shower again and sleep in a comfortable bed! As icing on the cake, we also enjoyed a wonderful massage - how good that felt! After that we wanted to travel on to Lake Toba, and coincidentally that was also Lilly's plan with her family. Transportation was completely arranged by them, and together we traveled to our next destination. Along the way, we had lunch together, took the same ferry and once again shared beautiful, enjoyable moments. In Tuktuk our paths parted, as we had each booked our own guesthouse, but we met up a few more times. Each time it was a warm reunion! What we really want to say: we felt like one of them. Absolutely perfect stay at Mila Homestay! Everything was spotless — super clean room, a big comfortable bed, hot shower, and great AC. The breakfast (made by Michaël) was delicious — and even served with a smile if you oversleep by more than an hour 😄 But the real highlight was the hosts, Dila and Michaël. They are truly the best hosts you could wish for — incredibly kind, helpful, and genuine. They helped us with everything: transportation, tickets, and local tips. Dila took us to the city and market several times and always managed to get us amazing deals. We feel so lucky to have met them — not just as hosts, but now as friends. ❤️ We can’t recommend Mila Homestay enough!✨️🔝

We booked our stay with Jhony and went on a 2 days jungle trekking tour with him and Lana. The room at his place is nice, nothing luxury but all you need is there. And the tour itself was just amazing! He's a very good guide, can tell a lot of storys and the food they brought for us on the tour was extraordinary!! Can highly recommend this!!

Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa se nachází v destinaci Bukit Lawang a nabízí zahradu. Tento penzion má terasu a výhled na hory. Na jídlo lze zajít do restaurace a na skleničku do baru. Bylo to nejlepší ubytování, jaké jsme měli na naší cestě po Malajsii a Indonésii. Tyson a jeho rodina byli skvělí. Tysonova teta nám vařila úžasná domácí jídla. A naši průvodci v džungli Bob a Usain byli výborní. Děkujeme Tysone za skvělý pobyt. Ondra a Boogeyman Stephany.

SeaGate Bungalows se nachází v destinaci Sabang a nabízí zahradu, soukromou pláž, terasu a bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. Na místě budete mít k dispozici termální koupel a pronájem auta. Many colourful reef fish species, trumpetfishes, box fishes, turtle, stingray and lionfish..., etc. are surprising me in this secrete snorkelling spot just outside Seagate. The room is very clean and comfortable, making me feel like at home. Free WiFi is also pretty good inside room, at balcony and restaurant that I did not expect in such natural environment before. Borja & Yuyun can assist all you want in the island such as transportation arrangement, watching dolphin/ snorkelling, renting car, and activity information......, etc..

Bua Guest House se nachází v destinaci Medan a poskytuje ubytování s zahradou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm a terasou. Velká mešita v Medanu je 9,3 km daleko. The guesthouse is located in a quiet area with a nice garden and outside area to relax. The best however was the owner. She gave us great tips and helped us organize our further trip. She owns another guesthouse in Tangkahan where we went on a jungle trip to see the Orang Utan. She made us a good and absolutely fair deal to get there, stay there, do the jungle tour and get back to Medan. We had the time of our life there.

Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys se nachází v destinaci Bukit Lawang a poskytuje zahradu, sdílený lounge, terasu a bar. The owner was so kind. Let me stay in a slightly more expensive room inside without paying the difference and got a ride back to the guesthouse from the city center at night. I wasn’t there for long but definitely felt it was a good deal for the price. It is pretty far from the center of butik lawang. You can walk it in 20min or get a tuktuk for 30rp. The walk is nice. You get to see another side to the area.
