We have been traveling around Southeast Asia for about five months now, visiting 6 or7 countries, and we’ve realized that it’s not the nature, food, or history that stays with you the most, but it’s the people. Our first week in the Philippines, while staying in Manila, wasn’t the best experience. But everything changed once we arrived on Mindoro Island, and especially when we stayed at Macrina’s place. Macrina and Ligh are two of the kindest, most welcoming people we’ve met on our journey. Every morning we had a different breakfast, and it genuinely made us excited to wake up. Almost every night they invited us to join their “family dinner,” completely free, and the vibe felt exactly like that -warm, homely, and full of care. The food was the best we’ve had in the Philippines, and the way they treated us made us feel not just like guests, but like long-time friends. We’re already looking forward to coming back and visiting Macrina and Ligh again. If you want a place with real heart, this is it.

This place offers great value for the price. It’s well located, close to Puerto Galera, and although it’s near the road, it’s surprisingly quiet at night, and traffic didn’t bother me. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with working (though a bit loud) air conditioning, comfy beds, hot water, toiletries, toilet paper, a kettle, drinking water, and good Wi-Fi. There’s also a great restaurant at the entrance where you can have breakfast and enjoy solid meals between 9am and 9pm. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The bed is pretty comfortable with multiple pillows. The place is also clean (though a little run down, here and there).

I Puerto Galera, 4 minutters gange fra Balete-stranden, ligger Aguada Hills Residence, som har en fellesstue og gratis privat parkering. Really clean modern place a short stroll from the town ( 7 Eleven ). Owners family live below and are on hand to help. Nice balcony to sit out in and relax.

Karen's Cottage at Angel's Beach Resort tilbyr et privat strandområde, fellesstue, en terrasse og bar i Puerto Galera. Overnattingsstedet har karaoke og et felleskjøkken. Karen is such an interesting person to talk to. The place and the atmosphere are quite unique. Be prepared for something different and go for a swim to the beach in nearby Sabang.

I San Jose ligger Topaz Bed & Breakfast Hotel, som tilbyr overnatting med terrasse eller balkong i tillegg til gratis WiFi, TV (flatskjerm) samt en hage og en fellesstue. Great service ! Great stuff and very good location ! Very recommended!

I Puerto Galera ligger Ponderosa Golf and Resort, som har en restaurant, bar, en hage, romservice og terrasse. Boenhetene har utsikt over fjellet. - astonishing view from our bedroom and restaurant over the Isla Verde Passage - extremely calm (no roosters, no barking dogs at night) :) - clean and fresh air (600m above sea level) - very clean bedroom with aircon, ventilator and modern shower - Billiard available in common area - always approachable and lovely staff, who can organise everything for you at very reasonable prices - initially steep road but easing shortly after and very well doable with a normal scooter (almost no traffic at all)

Beautiful property, location very good for what I needed. I even kept extending day by day and when I couldn’t extend any more due to them being fully booked they provided me a free shuttle to another hotel few km’s away. The guy and reception was super friendly and helpful too, and they do amazing pancakes.

I Puerto Galera, 5 minutters gange fra Aninuan-stranden, ligger Puerto Galera Transient Kubo Guest Place, som har et utendørsbasseng, gratis privat parkering, en hage og et privat strandområde. You get your whole cabin which is super convenient, very spacious kitchen equipped with everything you need and a large fridge. There is a cosy terrace and hamac spot to chill. You can rent a scooter. Free water.

Victoria's Bed & Breakfast ligger 5 minutters gange fra White Beach og har en fellesstue, en bar og et felleskjøkken. Du har tilgang til gratis WiFi over hele overnattingsstedet. Beliggenheten er veldig bra. Kort vei til strand og hovedgate. Veldig bra frokost. Hotellet drives av Jonnie og Viktoria Reder og deres hotell besetning. De var veldig gjestfrie. Det føltes mer som å besøke en familien enn et hotellopphold. Vil anbefale det på det sterkeste for de som skal til Puerto Galera.

Reynaldo's Upstairs ligger i Puerto Galera, 4 minutters gange fra Sabang-stranden og under 1 kilometer fra Small La Laguna Beach, og har overnatting med hage med en terrasse, utsikt mot sjøen samt... Rimelig, ok seng, vennlig vert, god mat, sentralt, stille og rolig.
