Beautiful location with very new and well designed facilities. Although we slept in a tent, it was as comfortable as any hotel rooms. If you are walking the Nakasendo, this place is ideal to stay between Nagiso and Nojiri. We woke up, had some breakfast and started walking right away. From the hotel, you can spend a good 3-4 hours in the beautiful woods and villages of Nagano. The owners were very helpful pointing us to the best route to Nojiri and giving us guidance on train schedules etc.

One of the best remote places we've stayed. Mysterious ryokan in the middle of the mountains, with lush greenery, forests, and wonderful onsen. Baths have exceeded our expectations! Wooden 'rotenburo', sauna, - too many words to write to express its beauty. Try stargazing at the veranda too! Location is perfect for someone traveling by car and has a great access to Tsumago-juku or Magome-juku, old preserved Japanese towns of Edo era. Stay there for a few days to unwind. It's a perfect spot for retreat. Will return again!

Beautiful, traditional Japanese home. Very spacious. Beds are comfortable. Takashi is a great host. He has a cafe right next door with THE most impressive music collection I've ever seen. He has LPs and CDs throughout the studio to listen to. His cafe has thousands! Staying here is a juxtaposition of traditional Japanese home life with modern, hip music funkiness. Definitely a fun and unique experience staying here. The town is also chill and peaceful surrounded by forested mountains. I could have easily stayed a week exploring the area and lounging out at Takashi's cafe grooving to the tunes he mixes up. Highly recommend this place 👍👍👍

I loved staying at this guesthouse. The house is gorgeous, has rooms with tatami floors, and the beds are very comfortable. It has a very beautiful view of the mountains from the backyard, and it is conveniently located with restaurants around. The host is very kind and responsive. I definitely recommend staying here. It is also close to the train station.

The lounge area was spacious, air-conditioned and well restored to allow a gathering place for my party to hangout and debrief the days activities. Sitting behind a cafe was fantastic allowing for seamless access and luggage hold, and extra bathrooms if needed

It was great staying in a traditional Japanese home from the 1600's. Dinner and breakfast were served to our "house" and the onsen was great as well. It is nice spending some time away from a city or town. You are surrounded by nature!
