Vacation Rentals in Nakagawa

It was the first time we ventured out from a major metropolitan area in Japan and we are glad that we chose Iizukatei. The breakfast served in our room every morning was exceptional. The staff was super attentive and always went out of their way to help us with reservations, driving us around and arranging activities.

The authenticity of this ryokan is evident in its dark wood floors, beamed ceilings, sliding doors and shoji screens. The view from our room included egrets and herons coming and going along the small river behind the ryokan and fields of golden grain between the river and the mountains. The comforters on the floor futons kept us snug and warm, but we welcomed the use of the heat pump in the morning when the air and floor were cold. A tea service and electric water kettle are provided. Two chairs are in the room Lovely omanju and rejuvenating lemon tea were provided on arrival as we'll as a warm towel to wipe your hand and face with. The dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The dishes came in slow succession so you can enjoy each presentation and savor each dish without rushing. After both dinner and breakfast, there is a beverage service provided offering cordials, healthy teas, coffee and medicinal concoctions.

Great location! The view from the living room and bedroom was beautiful! There was free parking included.

The breakfast very plentiful and delicious. The staff were very helpful with information about places to visit in the surrounding area. The location was close to the center of Daigo and near the Michi no Eki shop for souvenirs. It was also in the vicinity of the wonderful Fukuroda Waterfall. I was able to hike there and back. There is also a lovely old cafe in the middle of Daigo town called Daigo Cafe. All in all, I very much enjoyed my stay at Daigo House and would stay again if visiting the area again.

I was really lucky to find this accommodation because most places in Nasushiobara are really expensive hotels catering to the tourists visiting Nasu. We were in town to visit old friends and "family" and needed a place with a futon so I could sleep next to my 0 year old and 2 year old next to me. Unfortunately due to the Tokaido Shinkansen being stopped due to a derailment, we ended up checking in a day later. The staff were kind enough to understand the situation and kept our reservation for the next day. They were even kind enough to turn the AC on just before we arrived. There were many amenities in the room including Netflix, a kitchen with all the essentials, towels and water bottles you could use if you pay a little extra for. Considering the accommodation price, it was all very reasonable. There were a few things I noticed a little late that we couldn't take advantage of during our shortened stay like the balcony where you can dry your clothes, the washing machine, the gym you could use next door except on one day it was closed. The staff seem to be running a little izakaya on the 1st floor, so if you're up for some karaage and drinks, it's worth visiting. Just be sure to check out the blue binder on the table in your room because it will tell you everything you can take advantage of. They also have a lot of English translations if you need it. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would be happy to stay here again the next time I visit.
