The room and facilities are clean. The location is very good. It’s near the bus stop and the convenience store. And if you wake up early like me and there’s no bus at that time, you still able walk to the Shingu station. The hostel has 4 bicycles to be borrowed with no charge. You can ride it around the city.

The host Koji drove us to our Kumano River tour the next day which was a 20 minute drive and he did it very generously for us. He was very flexible with our check-in time and was extremely gracious and friendly and helpful and made sure we were very comfortable and then left us alone. The apartment was great for four people and it was quirky and spotless and charming. I would definitely stay again.

Extremely clean and organized. We only stayed for one night so we didn’t make use of all of its facilities, but it has ever you need, even for cooking. The host was very helpful.

The hosts were very friendly and quick to answer questions. They met us at the house shortly after arrival to give us a tour, and again at departure to ensure we made our connection to the train station. There were excellent English instructions on how to use the appliances and Japanese thermostat. The house is very organized has a touch of whimsy and a soothing comfort. The bedding was on the floor as found in Ryokins but much more comfortable. They felt as good as 5 inch thick Tempur-Pedic mattresses. They were so much better than the thin futons we slept on at other establishments. The Kamikura Hideaway was a breath of fresh air, providing all our needs in a relaxing environment. The whole house is curated telling an intriguing story. We absolutely loved staying here and would highly recommend it.

I love how it gives the real experience on what it’s like staying in Japanese style home in the quiet peaceful countryside. The Staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate and responsive. they’re good people.

Shingu Geusthouse was nice place to stay. It was about a 5 min walk from the bus/train station. The town of Shingu is very quite make sure to make your dinner plans early as everything closes sooner than expected. I would stay at this property again.
