The staff was very attentive and sociable. Even with the language barrier they were very communicative, fun, kind and most impressively anticipated our needs. They also introduced us to Yoshino in a unique way thanks to their local connections. The property is also well designed and we feel in love with the Japanese baths. Finally the meals from the chef was the best dinning experience we have ever experienced with elegant and delicious meals catered to our tests which only improved as they learned our preferences.

A traditional feeling Ryokan, not too expensive, very attentive owners. The view from the room was beautiful and so relaxing after walking all around Yoshino. The onsen was fantastic, especially the side with the working outdoor tub. The meals were very special, with dietary needs accommodated when expressed.

This property is an old village school and the on-site teacher’s residence. The place has been converted into a lovely guest house. It is located in picturesque mountains next to a Buddhist temple. I enjoyed reading works of local history and poetry in the school library; the goémon bath was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was truly exceptional. It was like entering into the world of Soseki’s 1906 novel Botchan (about a rural school teacher). I can’t wait to go back !
