The Huella Carmín family takes a lot of pride in sharing their home, their customs, and their culture with visitors. We were fortunate to be invited to participate in a tour of the rug workshop and learn all about the entrepreneurial projects that the family is working on. Being that we stayed here during Day of the Dead, this lovely and warm family also invited us to share in their spiritual rituals and traditions, including a typical (and delicious) Zapoteco breakfast and lunch, traditional dances, games, and prayers, and a visit to the cemetery.

The house is big, bigger than expected and very clean!!! The host was very welcoming and helpful in every aspect. The house was right in the middle of our way to mitla so the location was great.

Beautiful space with a garden courtyard, filled with flowers and butterflies. View of the sacred mountain el picacho. Peaceful hammocks for relaxing in the afternoon and evening. Sound of crickets and distant village music lulled us to sleep. Quietest place I have ever stayed in Mexico. The proprietors are a sweet family with kind faces, and we enjoyed talking with their young daughter in the morning.

The apartment is very nice, modern, comfortable bed, wifi is good, strong and constant signal. There is no AC but the fan on the ceiling is really strong and it would cool the room nicely. The terrace on top is nice, we used it a lot. There are nice little shops and a market on the street where you can buy fresh products if you like to cook. There are very nice restaurants bars and burger shops in the area, it is quiet and safe to walk around. It takes about 45 min walk to the historic center. We enjoyed the stay here, I really recommend it for longer stays. There is a laundry store the street behind the apartment
