Getting to Sintropia is a bit of a journey (everything is very well explained beforehand), but once you’re up there you won’t want to come back down – and that’s the beauty of it! Only one restaurant that is very close by. Shower had no hot water, but expected for the area. Keep doors and windows closed because many bugs in the area. Nice stay!

Little paradise within the jungle, but still in walking distance to nice activities (river, beach). Helpful staff, open air dorm with good mosquito nets. In-house restaurant with good food (even though everything is fried and starts to get hard on the stomach after a few days).

Located in a calmer part of Santa Marta with fewer restaurants, although close to the beach. A bit noisy during the evenings due to the traffic outside. Ideal for people traveling in groups or in pairs.

The view from the top of his property is beautiful, and it was great to be so close to the river and hike right from our cabana. We could walk to Tayrona and take a short bus ride to other sites. The small town of San Rafael was the perfect landing for us; we loved experiencing culture in that way. The accommodations are simple but we're exactly what our family wanted.
