The location is great, although the surrounding area (streets) is still under construction so it can be rough terrain to walk through to the main village if you are not able to walk well. Spectaculair view of the sea and the waves crashing on the rocky coast. Breathtaking! House is clean and well maintained. Garden too. Multiple rooms are rented out and you share the kitchen, living room and outside area with swimming pool. The coast in town has a little beach but is more a place where the locals put there fishing boats in the water. Sometimes someone swims there and that is possible but it is dark brown beach sand and quite big waves, so we didn’t swim in the sea there. If you rent a car somewhere you would be able to visit other places in the island from Cidade Velha. Staff very friendly and stay out of your way. We didn’t take the breakfast, but there is the possibility. The caretaker showed us the way to the village and the small supermarket shops for some groceries. There isn’t much available, but Praia is very close by (you can take a local white transportation van for only a euro into Praia on the main road) and it is a very nice place to stay away from the big town. We stayed in multiple places in Santiago and thought this was the most beautiful location to stay in the island.

It's a short distance from the beach in a quiet street opposite a local school. The shared areas as kitchen, living room, bathroom and the balcony are cleaned daily. Our room was comfortable and had all we needed. We really appreciated Cino our host, who gave us a lot of tips about where to go eat and how to best explore the island. We can only recommend him and his business.

Carls and his whole family are such nice persons. The neibourhood is not to ni, but once inside you will forget it at once. Carlos even gave us a ride und picked us up at some nice Dinnerplace. And we even got an Airport dropoff including an breakfast wich wasen't suposed to be. Great place amazing Family, thank you all you made our stay an fantastic experience

Authentic village life at its best! Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

Location: The apartment is situated in a nice quiter location with a good view from the front. Cleanliness: Everything was neat and tidy, which made for a pleasant stay. Hospitality: The host was an amazing and friendly person. His warm welcome made me feel right at home. He was always available for questions and ready to help whenever I needed it. Overall: I am very satisfied with my stay in this apartment. The combination of the great location, the tidiness, and especially the host's hospitality made my experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

Iolanda and Johannes are kind and welcoming hosts who make you feel at ease from the very first contact. They run a restaurant just a few minutes from home — Sabor — where the food is absolutely to die for. They have a lovely daughter, Amy, and Iolanda’s mother, Mrs. Marcolina, is a true force of nature. The apartment has everything you could possibly need, and the views are beyond words . the photos don’t do it justice. The area is perfect for those who enjoy hiking or simply taking in the surrounding nature. The locals are friendly; everyone greets you, and with some, you can even have a nice little chat. The children are absolutely adorable and offer real life lessons. Lastly, a special thanks to Iolanda’s cousin, Simone, who made me feel part of the community and helped me discover a bit more about the locals everyday life.
