The owner/hostess, Fatma, is super friendly, kind, helpful, flexible, and committed to making your stay in Momnbasa as enjoyable as possible. She was also very responsive and patient with my many email questions. The location in the heart of the Old Town is perfect, a few steps from the water and easy walking distance to good restaurants and the sights of Old Town. In particular, we recommend nearby Forodhani Restaurant with a lovely and breezy patio setting on the water, located only 400 metres away. Fort Jesus is about 500 metres away. Tuk tuks are numerous if you want to go further afield, to the Mackinnon Market, for example, where many of the free walking tours begin. The apartment itself is ground level, secure, very clean, and perfect for our group of 5 adults. One bedroom has a queen bed and a single, the other has a queen. We stayed only one night but in restrospect, would probably have preferred two nights so that our Mombasa activites weren't quite so rushed. Finally, of course, the price of the apartment is unbeatable, somewhere between $50-$55 US for the 5 of us. In short, highly recommended.

Everything is perfect here - attentive host, clean and modern facilities, stunning ocean views, wonderful food, conveniently located, beautifully furnished apartment, A/C in bedrooms, a balcony we never wanted to leave, and wonderful recommendations for a driver and activities. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay for our family of five. The three bedroom apartment overlooking the ocean offered numerous expansive views - indoor and outdoor - of the ocean and coastline. KD, the host, was easy to coordinate with from start to finish. We planned a last minute trip to Mombasa with a limited window of time to explore the city. KD made sure we had a reliable driver who also helped to arrange a city tour that went far beyond our expectations. The location is safe and quiet despite being so centrally located. We were able to arrive by train and depart by air without any hassles. The residence is extremely secure with strong doors and windows while also feeling very open and airy. We were able to enjoy privacy in a spacious apartment at a boutique residence while also having breakfast included and other meals available upon request. Mercy is a fabulous chef and miraculously produced a wonderful dinner after an exhausting day of sightseeing. WiFi worked perfectly throughout our stay, especially with the extender. Our residence was cleaned daily and was spotless. The bedding and towels were wonderful. The area was quiet at night with the ocean as the only sound. We all wanted to stay longer at the residence to relax and enjoy the view. The resident dogs are adorable. We felt that we were visiting friends in a truly unique and welcoming environment. Place is gorgeous with views to match, AC gets as cold as you want with one in both bedrooms. The Kingston lounge across the street has pretty good food and drinks as well if you don't wanna go out. Ask for Steve Leon for your guide if you need somebody to show you around Mombasa, funny guy that knows everybody and gives the best tours.
