The food was excellent and the land lady was very flexible in making an early breakfast. We had a very cozy fireplace, the best shower we've had in years, and a comfortable bed. It's a great stop for anyone doing the Quilotoa loop trek, cannot recommend this place enough.

We loved the people working here, the food was good, the room was cozy with comfortable beds and they had a very cute cat and a few friendly dogs. The host prepared hot chocolate for us upon arrival for free and lit up the woodburner in the common area. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you are on the Quilotoa loop, especially if you are travelling on a budget.

DInner and breakfast is included the price as well as free coffe, tea and water all day. We had so much food and it was very delicious. For only 5$ extra you can use the Spa area which includes the jacuzzi, dry and steam sauna. The view from the hostel is a dream and you have so much nature to discover if you are going on a hike. The hostel offers a lunchbox for small money if you need it for your hike. You also get a towel for free and enough options to take a shower with hot water. They also have a big Yoga studio to use (incl. mat) with an amazing view.

We arrived at dusk so weren’t able to fully appreciate the environment. when i woke the next morning and saw the view from our window, I literally wept. Our room was large and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were yummy and ample. The staff went above and beyond. so very kind and welcoming We liked El Vaquero so much, we stayed an extra night. If you can, go on a horse outing with local farmer, Umberto Ortega. An extensive tour with a kind man. Definitely one of the top three experiences during our two months in Ecuador.

This place is not as famous as the Llullu Llama Lodge but it offers the same quality and friendly atmosphere! The hosts (2 sisters) were super friendly, they lit the fireplace even though we were the only guests. The food was delicious and the portions were huge!
