“To be fair, I chose The Star because it was cheap – a lot cheaper than the local Premier Inn or even the nearby “Ibis Budget” Hotel – and it was convenient. I wasn’t expecting much and, as such, I wasn’t disappointed. The Star is run down and pretty shabby but it is a cheap/budget option. As such, it was OK/adequate. On the plus side, the staff were efficient and friendly. The only significant negative I would point to was the saggy, uncomfortable bed which, I feel, fell below the standard I’d expect from even a budget hotel.”
“The room was basic , and very small. But it was very clean and well kept, bed was comfortable. The entrance and decor in the bar and restaurant was nice and modern.we liked seeing the big boats from the window. I would stay again because it was right next to the town so could leave the car at the hotel and go shopping. I may try the IBIS budget next time. Which was right next to it and cheaper. I expect it will be up to the same standard.”
“Definitely was a budget hotel but that's why it was cheaper than the regular Ibis just across the car park. You get exactly what you pay for....and we did. No complaints at all.”
“The name of the hotel suggests what it is going to be like. It was a budget hotel although the main hotel was cheaper than the budget and had more facilities ironically !”
“Very inexpensive. Very handy. For Mayflower Theatre. Breakfast Ok and room 2 was acceptable for one night. Friends room was cheaper but much inferior but also Ok for one nigh.”
